Since science news threads tend to drop off the front pages quickly, or you might have a story that find interesting but aren't motivated enough to start a new thread for it, this is intended to be a clearinghouse thread to post them.

I only found out the other day that the Earth has got two moons!!

The moon that's not the Moon is called Cruithne.

It's not a moon, it's an Earth synchronized asteroid... Which I find even more amazing... and its orbit is periodically perturbed by Earth so that its orbital period varies from Earth's by plus or minus a day.... Ahh, go read the article

They only think it might be a rocket stage.... my money's on V'Ger.
