I've been looking for To Kill a Mockingbird for months but I can't find it anywhere. I finally requested it from Connect but still nothing. It's a strange book. Harper Lee never published another book. There was a nasty rumor that Truman Capote ghosted it with her. It is a great book that I'd like to re-read. |

You can purchase Pullman's Dark Materials trilogy at 4 dollars each book from ereader.com, it's a little cheaper than the paperback price.

Interesting that 5 are by women, and 5 are by men. (Good job God is male, otherwise we'd have been outnumbered! ) I've read all except 'Mocking Bird' and the Bible. I thought Pullman's 'Dark Materials' was ok, but he rather sledgehammered his message into the books; a bit more subtlety would have helped. |

The Harry Potter books are much much better than the movies. I rec you read them, they're worth much more than their spot on that list imo! |

If you haven't read them though, at least give them a chance is all I'm saying. Don't judge a book by its cover! HP is not a children's series! Its a fantasy series and has much death and serious themes and hidden meanings! | |

Except for the second book, which was a bit weak, and all the teen angst in Goblet of Fire. I particularly like Harry becoming a subversive teacher in book 5. |

At fifty, dare I say, I still like HP and I'll recommend him to anyone who likes the beauty of imagination and the marvelous. |
