In that case, of course I'll adopt liseuse. But with a horrible I'm-german-and-had-one-year-of-french-in-secondary-school- accent.

Well I had one bloke on the train ask me the other day if I could make phone calls on my Kobo...

Even my daughter travelling with me looked at him a little aghast... I did explain to him it was not an ipad and no, not even ipads make phone calls. It is an ereader...That is, it is a device that reads ebooks. He then called my Kobo a PDA..... Hmmmm.....

Although, when I think about it, it doesn't assist me with my personal data. So, no, it ain't no PDA, either... |

Lady F makes a good point. Just because you have not chosen to exploit your reader that way doesn't mean it can't.

Normally I don't get out of the house much, but in 2 weeks I'm driving from Fargo ND to Dallas Tx. I plan to have my jetbook fully loaded with phone numbers, maps, etc. Book lists for authors I've learned is really handy to have in folder when you get someone prolific like David Weber. Really makes it much more simple to find the next book in a series. Authors with less than 6-12 books I normally don't bother. But the more I use and learn to work with my jetbook the more little tips like that help. Google the author, find bibliography web page, copy, paste into a txt or .rtf file, name "weberbooks" save, copy to jetbook Weber folder. Hey presto. Maps from Mapquest, bing, etc can be saved, stashed on the jetbook in a folder. So you have a zoomed out big map of the whole trip. Any complicated spots you can zoom in on for detail. etc. Drop em into a folder and hey presto. "Was that 78th or 58 street we wanted?" One sec, emm, looks like 78th is right but its an avenue. Heck if you really wanted to get fancy you could create a new PDF that had the images loaded along with the step by step driving directions. Not much that you can't do with the Jetbook if you "think" about it. |

Wait, you mean phone book like in an ebook containing a list of phone numbers? I read it as the Jetbook having some sort of mini- application for that.

When I travel, I create docs with hotel, flight and car reservation info for my PRS-505 so I don't have to carry around and keep track of several pieces of paper.

Anything you can put on paper you can put in your ebook reader. Except boarding passes, darn it. |

The manuals are scanned PDFs of the originals. Fortunately, the page size is small enough to read on the screen of my JBL. The phone book and book list are PDFs I created in Word on a template that has pages sized to fit the JBL.
