Betamax was da bomb, then that crappy VHS came along and ruined everything. Then DVD came along and ruined everything. Then Bluray came along and was perceived as not enough improvement to buy, and everyone went out and bought PVRs instead (unless they own a PS3 that is, which is still the only affordable way to own a Bluray player).

Oops... my vote says 1 because I was only considering e-book Readers. But here are a few others that I can think of... * PSP (which I never use) * Sony DVD drive (which never gets used) * Sony MiniDisk recorder (which I may have already gotten rid of) * Sony Walkman tape deck (which I should get rid of) * Sony Clie SJ-33 which I gave to my wife (but she doesn't use it) Hmm... sounds like Sony stuff isn't working out so well for me these days. But it's probably more commentary on the fast obsolescence of electronics than it is a knock on Sony. |

Interesting Bob, had to look up what the Clie was Looking at what I have in terms of use: * Sony chunky PS2 - doesn't get played much nowadays but certainly got a workout; has network card installed which did get used quite a lot * Sony cameras, 2 of them - the old one has developed fault but haven't had heart to throw it yet - however the new one is getting work out! (Well, new is relative. It was bought new but it's one of their last models not to have Li-ion battery.) * Sony 4 GB usb stick - retired but kept * Sony Memory Sticks - 256 MB, 2 GB and 8 GB - the 256 MB is retired but the other two get work out * Sony LCD television - in current use * Sony PRS-600 - all the time * Sony recharger with Sony NiMH batteries - all the time |

 Well so far...
I was interested in my whole cinema set up going Sony, but the projector was twice the price and didn't have as good a write-up as others. My wife also has a Sony PRS300 Reader. She had one of their Laptops as well, but it went back three times in less than a year, twice for hard drive failure and once for power failure. So she got rid of it and went back to buying Acer. She won't touch Sony again. Shame, they make the nicest looking readers. |

Currently I have an Sony reader because it was available but the times where Sony was my preferred supplier are over. Nowadays buy Sony if there is no viable alternative. Martin Last edited by krischik; 09-27-2010 at 02:22 AM.

4 at the moment. PRS-500 PRS-505 Sony NWS706 - 4GB Walkman MP3 Player Sony Home Theater System HT-K250 I used to have CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo in my PC Walkman tape player. If I am going to buy a new TV, most likely it would be Sony Bravia 200Hz If I were to buy video camera it would be Sony. When I buy BD player it will be Sony. However, I cannot call it a dedication. I buy what I think would fit my requirements the best. My latest 5.1 system for sitting room has no Sony products. My DSLR camera is not Sony I most likely will never be. I don't like mp3 player that I bought for my significant one. P.S. On the other hand I do believe that Sony is an excellent hardware maker, probably one of the best. I am planning to buy PRS-650 within a few weeks/months and I would buy any time PRS-XXX 8" Last edited by astra; 09-27-2010 at 10:32 AM. |

I've got my reader and we just bought a Sony DVD player but I said three on the assumption that we have something else lying around made by Sony. I'm by no means a Sony fan, the reader I got after lots of research and determining what my needs were and what each alternative offered me to meet those needs. The Blu-ray player we got because it was the best, reasonably priced one that did what we needed it to do but still had more capabilities for us to take advantage of later. |

Well for my taste sony readers are the best of the lot, but far from perfect. So I would be willing to change brand, as soon as my priorities are better met by a different product

Besides my ebook reader, I have three Sony digital audio players, a Sony DVD player, BluRay player, two VHS VCRs, and a Playstation 2.
