The reason behind giving them out with the Sony are obvious - the new models have debuted and should be shipping soon. I wonder if this maybe means a new Nook soon! Oh, I hope so, I'm still in my 30 day return window.

I doubt it. No matter how big the Kindle is, it wouldn't pay Best Buy to piss Sony off since they probably sell a lot more Playstations, PSPs and TVs than they ever will of ebook readers. To put it simply, Amazon simply would not have the clout to pull it off; not yet anyway.

Oh, by the way, you are NOT able to do this in the stores, I tried it today...

ONLINE ONLY they were upset when I didn't buy it from them because of that.

I could in my Best Buy. It was even in the flyer. If they want to sell it to you, tell them to price match the flyer or the website, usually they'll do it.

My Best Buy has it advertised right next to the Nook stand, odd that your's doesn't.

I purchased a nook two days ago from a local Best Buy and the nook WiFi was listed on my receipt as $124.99 plus the cost of the $25 for the gift card. I then sold the gift card at a discount on Kindle Boards to help finance the nook purchase. I wasn't offered the use of the gift card towards my purchase at the store.
