I'm the one who's lost now. In any case I agree with you. I used the MSRP 'cause that's more common, but could be any price. Given that retailers get volume discounts the MSRP helps prevent that the big fishes take advantage of that hurting the rest of the distribution chain. Of course I could be wrong, this is not my area of expertise. | |

I ordered one from Adorama on the 17th as well. I'll be furious if they cancel my order now because im overseas as i could have one by now if i went off ebay. It's for a gift and now it will be a late gift no matter who i get it from! |

You could go look in the flea market and find the message where I'm offering to get a 505 for someone overseas and put in that you want one and you could get one that way.

Thanks JSWOLF. Had considered it but adorama are a shop and have a good price. If it's gonna be late i'd rather it be late from Adorama or BH.

But nobody has yet to get a 505 from Adorama and nobody here knows anything about them. B&H has no stock of 505 yet.

I live in Europe. Does anyone know if/how/where can I buy the Reader with a 2 year parts+labour+replacement warranty?

A number of people have bought them via eBay. I don't believe anyone's managed to find a shop which has them in stock and ships internationally. Perhaps you should consider a CyBook Gen3 instead? |

If you're in the EU you're going to have to pay VAT whether you buy a Sony Reader or a CyBook. The Sony may appear cheaper, but I think you'll find that it works out pretty much the same after you've paid import duties and VAT if you buy one from the US.

BTW I just got an update from Adorama, maybe automatic, an apology that they're still waiting for shipment of the 505/blue. I'm really quite happy to wait in order to get it at a reasonable price. | |
