Kindle in Staples. When??? - Page 2

I checked out target.com as well - a search of the site for the Kindle eReader brought up nothing except for one cover. You would think that they would at least show the Kindle as "coming soon" or something of that nature. Well, Ajax says the new Kindle will be available in Target stores by mid-September; otherwise, the lack of info on the Target site would make me think that Amazon may have dropped Target as a retailer so they can concentrate on Staples.

I was hoping to check out the Kindle 3 at a local Target or Staples store, however......Amazon.com still shows the Kindle 3 as being out of stock so, unless Amazon has some stock "saved back" to ship to Target - and/or Staples - the Kindle won't be available locally any time soon.

Guess I'll just have to count on the folks here to tell me how wonderful the Kindle 3 is and I'll just order it from Amazon without any "try before you buy" time.

The revision for the aisle which adds the new models to the current set is due on 9/12. Generally the product comes in the week before a revision sets, so you should begin seeing K3s at Target within 1-2 more weeks.

Yeah, at a local Target I was at the other day, they showed a sign next to the Kindle display that said the K3 would be available there "in September."

I doubt you will be able to use any coupon to purchase Kindle

Why not? If the coupon is good in the store and does not have specific restrictions then it should work. I have used 20% off coupons and stores for expensive electronics. Does Staples normally limit what the coupons can be used for?

I am also a big fan of coupons and used to buy stuff from Staples way cheaper than it costs even now

But I guess its Amazon policy and Staples policy together. And its still a very hot product. Its not just a GPS or desktop that nobody buys nowadays. Anyways, if, lets say DX cost is 379 on Amazon and its gonna be the same price at Staples you will need at least good 10% coupon to cover sales tax. I hope it will work. I preordered mine DX from Amazon, cause I just got tired of waiting and have tons of stuff to read.

I wish there were more buying options. We live in difficult era now
