They're the same buttons, but they've changed the way they work on the 505. They don't do the "jump to percentage" thing anymore, they bring up a menu for jumping to a specific page. You know, like the Direct Page hack that diabloNL posted here a few months ago does on the 500.

Can't say that I saw what diabloNL posted, again I haven't been around much, just peek in from time to time and that 505 caught my eye.

Okay well regardless, I don't think I would be going out to buy another reader when this one fits the bill for me just fine.

Hello,

no news about where to buy the Sony PRS-505 ?

B&H and TigerDirect don't seem to have the Sony reader.

So, these forwarding mail services seem to be not expensive :
http://www.boxinus.com
http://www.bongous.com

Somebody knows the weight of the package ?

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but it shouldn't be more than 3 lbs.

Keep in mind that only bongous offers a personal shopper, which you are gonna need if you don't have a a US credit Card. (but my guess is that they'll probably charge you a percentage for the service) Total cost will probably be $370. cheap, cheap, cheap.

So will you go ahead and "abuse" a weak dollar?

That'd be ~€260 -- abuse our currency, go ahead, we can take it!

The S00 is less then 2 pounds with the AC adapter. So the 505 should be even less. I'd go with I think 1.5 pounds to be on the safe side unless you know for sure.

Actually that "abusing a weak dollar" was kinda tongue-in-cheek since it's actually good for the US to have a weak dollar: helps with exports, and given that the US economy doesn't rely much on imports there isn't much of a downside.

Regarding mail forwarding services: I have to look into it, but it's possible that you could avoid customs if they repack before shipping. i.e: technically you are not importing anymore.

Does anybody know something about it?
I'm mentioning it 'cause shipping rates seem quite expensive at smarthome.

We don't? Then why does it seem that every stinkin' thing I look at has "Made in China" branded on it.

That's certainly true, although no government likes to admit it.

I think you may be mistaken there. Have you looked at the US trade deficit lately? The US imports hugely more than it exports.
