sock-free zone here, in fact I don't like wearing any clothing in bed, and welcome the chance to send the exploratory toe out from under the duvet to test the early morning temperature!

I have a pair of bed-socks made from very fine, soft angora wool, which I will wear if it's very, very cold and my feet can't seem to get warm even under my winter duvet + wool blanket. But I have never considered sleeping with ordinary socks, only bed-socks.

I'm a cat lover, but I think dogs do a better job of acting as bed foot warmers. They seem to cover a larger area and don't leave in the middle of the night to hunt for unsuspecting "Friskie" bits.

More seriously. Foot kissing (not the fetish stuff, but kissing with feet, or caressing, or even better entangling) is a very sweet thing. So to give that up is just a stupid waste.

There are cases in which I wear socks in bed. When I feel that I might get cramps, I put very light (Scot thread) cotton socks, but just for sleeping, pour vrai.

Another option would be to put a blanket over the foot end of the bed. Or just focus on relaxation - that will help the bloodflow. When I have cold feet, it's often because I'm tense and/or have been physically inactive in the evening.
