Saving forum threads to Kindle

How does one save forum threads into a file format compatible for the kindle?

I guess you could install something like "cutepdf" which lets you "print" to a pdf file. You'd have all the disadvantages of a pdf file, though. Some vbulliten forums, though it doesn't appear to be this one, have a feature under "thread tools" that say, "download thread" which then saves the thread as a text file. This would be handy for reading conversations, but not graphics. I guess it's all one big compromise.

*eta*...I swear I didn't see it there earlier, but at any rate, this forum does have the "download thread" option under "thread tools"...sorry for the misinformation.

thanks for the info matt. i recently discovered that you can actually download the thread and save it using instapaper (instapaper.com) to convert it straight to mobi so it's kindle friendly!

you know, I happened across that page today too, as a matter of fact. It looked good, but what do you do with a multiple-page thread, say it's 10 pages long with 300 posts, does it do the whole thread or does it just save page 1?

Just tested it to be sure. The "Download this thread" option downloads the entire thread. I tried it on a thread with 77 posts.

to be clear, I know the txt option works, but I'm simply not sure about the way instapaper would handle things on the same thread.
