Glad you got a jumpstart, but doesn't the codeine totally knock you out? I would need a healthy dose of caffeine with the hugs and the mission! I'm hoping you're feeling much better by now, since I am late in getting caught up with my thread reading.

You are very lucky, rebarnmom. I've got 3 nephews and a niece around the same age as your daughter and if I bought that cartridge for any one of them, it would be returned so fast, it would burst into flames. I'm the only reader in my family except my mom and my uncle. I finally got them reading recently. When they hit 70. |

The love of reading runs rampant in our family and I remember being so worried that it had skipped this generation, which is thankfully now not the case! Clumsy accidents with sharp objects also runs in my side of the family. For me it was the blender and 20 stitches. For my mom it was the lawn mower and 15 stitches. I've pre-warned my daughter on this family curse!

The clumsy years. Yes, I remember them well. Snakebites, smashed 3 fingers in a car door (12 stitches, fracture), bike accident (skull fracture, coma). My family refers to them as "recluse's Suicide Summers". Thank Heaven I don't have kids. |

For the longest time I could have sworn I heard a rooster crow 2-3 times every morning. About 6 months ago my 11 year old says "dad, come quick. There is a chicken in our backyard." We live in an area where it is unheard of to see a live chicken. I say to my boy "get me my pellet gun." because wild chickens generally carry diseases. The rooster did some kind of ninja move and went straight up about 50 feet and didnt actually fly but somehow chicken-hopped back into my neighbor's yard. Lately I have been hearing either a duck or a goose quack. |
