Hi I'm Laura & I live about 25 miles from Edinburgh in Scotland. I've just purchased a Sony pocket ereader and I'm a total novice, I've no idea about where the best place to buy ebooks or anything so if anyone can give me some advice that would be great. I've looked at some sites but they're restricted to the US

Ah, Laura. Just said hello to you in another thread. So hello again. Always great to see a fellow Scot here. A couple of wee tips for you:

*The Sony hardware is first class, its library software isn't. You'd be doing yourself a favour by downloading the free (or dontate-if-you-like-it) Calibre library software many of us here swear by. It was developed by activde MR member Kovid Goyal. Simple but with some superb features and very, very flexible.

*Also, don't rely on anything but a proper AC wall-plug charger if you want a trouble-free reader. The battery level meters on the Sony machines are notoriously over-optimistic.
