One of the girls that I work with has been raving about Hocking for a while now and trying to persuade me to try some of her books, so I finally gave in when she mentioned that one had zombies in it. She did warn me that it is still a paranormal romance of sorts.

I would have read one of the others but I'm all burnt out on vampires and the trylle trilogy sounded even more like a romance.

Zombie fallout is quite good so far.

ooo Boneshaker sounds interesting. I like steampunk!
I'll look that up now...

Best zombie book so far for me was The Undead Situation. Favorite characters in any books I've read so far. The ending had me aching for the sequel. Will be a trilogy, but taking forever to Permuted Press to publish the darn thing. Picked up from the author free on one of her promotions early on. Just amazing and what a different take- a serial killer trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. Loved it.

Zombie book recommendations

I'm also a book collector, and I wouldn't want any fungus rot settling in when they touch my collection. The longer they've been dead, of course, the clumsier they seem to be, so I'd also have to hide my Ebook Reader.

What's your favorite zombie book, uh?

Right now, I'm reading a wonderfully trashy piece of enjoyable nonsense called Blood of the Dead [Undead World Trilogy Book One], by A.P. Fuchs.

It's a pretty good read so far, just great fun and full of rotting, semi-ambulatory bodies.

Well, gotta go now, someone's scraping against the door.

Don
Didn't read through this whole thread so my apologies if this is a repeat. I've recently read two very well done books by J.L. Bourne. 'Day by Day: Armageddon' and it's sequel, 'Beyond Exile'. Both are written in a journal type format and along with the author's military background, made the reading much more interesting. I wasn't much of a zombie or post-apocolyptal book fan until I read these two books.
I picked up WWZ by Max Brooks and enjoyed that one as well.

Aloha,

I recommend De Bello Lemurs (Or, The Roman War Against the Zombies of Armorica).

Just tore through a few of Jonathan Mayberry's books. Not all are zombie specific, but for sure, book 1 of his Joe Ledger series "Patient Zero" [and the backstory prequel "Countdown"] is an exceptionally entertaining and well-written take on the zombie genre IMO.

Take:
1 part evil Bond super-villain billionaire
1 part uber-capable top secret military organization and shadow government agency
1 part killing-machine lead protagonist in possession of both a conscience and brains
1 part smoking hot British love interest who also happens to kick major ass

Blend, stir and enjoy

I hope Maberry does more. I listened to the audio versions; the narrator, Ray Porter, is incredible. I counted him doing 14 different voice characters before I lost track.

^ Nice info, thanks! I have never really gotten into audiobooks for a variety of reasons. Though I am aware that there are some great books narrated by some top voice talents and I may indeed be missing out.

Samuel Jackson doing that latest sensation "Go to F&^* Asleep" is one I think I just gotta have.

My commute is 45 minutes, so I actually do most of my "reading" on the road. I did just finish kindle versions of Jack J. Lee's "Year of the Dead" and started Dilouie's "The Infection."

Just read Day by Day Armageddon, and am now reading the sequel Armageddon: Beyond Exile by JL Bourne, both absorbing and enjoyable.

Have been recommended the Infected series by Scott Sigler - anyone read them?
