They are also highly social, or at least so I've heard, but the two I know just don't like petting.

they are extremely social. my breeder had warned me that they did not like so much cuddling and petting. these two didn't get the memo

Back to the beach: I just spent a week on the beach with my Kindle in a simple M-Edge case, and had no problem with sand. I put it in a simple beach bag with my camera when I went for a swim. In a regular case, the speaker holes are covered. I understand using a zip-lock bag for reading in the bath, but I wouldn't worry too much about the beach. Just put it in your beach bag when you put it down.

I have a question.... For those of you that use the TrendyDigital bag for your Kindle, are all the buttons fully accessible and easy to press, including the on/off switch, without opening the bag at all? Also, does the plastic produce much glare when reading?
