Do you think Lobster's hint today (to pay attention to what the suspects said) implies that we should ignore the physical clues? That they are all red herrings?

Good luck with that. I filled pages upon pages with useless information. For some people we have scarcely any information at all, for others way too much and conflicting.
But maybe we should trust the Lobster and just go with the words...

Heh. Funny thing is, once I wrote down my answer, even if I haven't sent it yet, I can't think about it any more, my mind refuses to dwell on it any longer. I'll go sew back my loose eye now. Using the electric blue thread most probably.

I think so, but I wouldn't put it past them to have at least one or two clues that aren't.

As a public service, the mods should probably alert the US Geological Soc. and other countries' similar departments, as to the date the solution to the mystery will be announced. The force of tens of thousands of MR members worldwide smacking themselves in the forehead and screaming "Of course! How could I have been so stupid? I didn't win again!" will probably trigger major global seismic events that could topple their infrastructures! Not to mention shift some tectonic plates!

[Of course to avoid such global calamity, MR could act responsibly and quietly give the prizes to the concerned MR entrant(s) who are actively trying to prevent such a cataclysmic event. Hint. Hint. Just saying.]
