Great, just freaking great, with this temporal dysjunction thingy now, not only do we have to consider the 10 current suspects, the detective, the stiff, the otters, and the dog, but now we also have to consider everyone who was, will ever be, is currently, willen wasen bein, and shoulda woulda coulda been a moderator.

I'm going to submit "karma" as my answer and be done with it.

Hmm, so the suspicious Zelda gasping is (more or less) explained, and has nothing much to do with sleep...
Minor or major inconsistencies here and there - AND something missing!

How many more story installments are there? Will the culprit be revealed, or only after the contest is over? So many questions.

I absolutely loved the String Theory by the way!

there is only one chapter left that will be posted tomorrow, then it's up to you to find the culprit ! we'll post the solution after the deadline for sending in your answers (deadline is the 16th, solution will be posted the 17th).

I am being truthful when I say I not interested in puzzle stories. So my answer is not from solving the puzzle, and I expect it to be wrong.

So here's my work (sic).

Who had continual access to the murder room?
Who is considered too pacifist to be a murderer?
Who has massive strength?
Who is an expert at space-time discontinuities?
Who is the closest thing to a butler?
