Time for a round of updates!

* ScreenSavers v0.23.N:
* In addition to the 'random' feature, you can now also shuffle your screensavers each time an autoreboot is triggered. If, like me, you're doing a lot of autoreboots through meme's wonderful Kindle Collections plugin, you may find this interesting . Just drop a blank 'shuffle' file in the 'linkss' folder .
* Updated binaries (new tc)

* Fonts v4.7.N:
* Updated FT libs (updated FT, new tc). There may be some significant rendering changes/fixes there, especially with CJK scripts.
* Updated binaries (new tc, updated fc)
* Updated USB watchdog to handle the new 'shuffle' feature of ss v0.23.N.

* USBNet v0.34.N:
* Updated binaries (new tc, updated rsync & busybox)

Also, the x-tc tarball has been updated to reflect the changes to the toolchain.

I installed the new SS hack and also the Kindle Collection plugin in Calibre, but the Kindle still only shows my collection of SS pictures, but not the created ones by the plugin. I can see an according file "kindle_collections_path_cache.calibre" in the root directory, but it doesn't show any pictures?

What do I need to do?

Thanks!

@f-j-p: Err, the plugin doesn't do a thing with screensavers, its purpose is managing Collections, not screensavers, it just triggers an autoreboot when you eject the device from calibre.

Sorry, my mistake. Must have been some wishful thinking....

@NiLuJe. I tried, my hybrid Kindle DXG (Kindle v3 on DXG) not accept "update_fonts_4.7.N_k3g_install.bin", but accept "update_ss_0.23.N_dxg_install.bin". So I can't try your Font Hack K3 version.

@tekkasit: Put the linkfonts folder from the src directory in the -k3 zipfile on the root of your device, and use the _dxg .bin.

@NiLuJe, OK.

PS. After I install with K2 bundle as your guide, then I just realized that your 'linkfonts' folder inside your Font Hack for K2 and K3 bundle are exactly same.

@tekkasit: Indeed they are, I forgot that I actually only filter the tarballs in the .bin files, not the source tree itself in the zipfile.

(The differences are minimal anyway, the only thing stripped from the k2 binfiles are the CJK fonts & the fc-scan binary).

Installed the font hack on my KSO, and used the Fontin (K3 of course) fonts .. it looks ALOT easier on the eyes. Thanks for keeping the Font hacks updated!

Hi to everyone here,
I'm new to the Kindle world (but not IT illiterate) & I'm having trouble jailbreaking my DX 2 Int (ver. 2.5.8). I copied the update_jailbreak_0.7.N_k2i_install.bin to the root of my kindle and ejected it as instructed. However, the update your kindle option was greyed out and when I restarted it, I got an update error and had to press R4 to continue. Everything seems OK, but as this was now off-script I'm not sure if it's jailbroken or not or what I did wrong.
Any help will be appreciated.

@thomass: No idea, but there's no reason to. Just convert it to greyscale png/jpg.

Reason:
launchpad hack has a screenshot property which saves them as a bmp. I try to use it to use last screen as a screen saver. (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...33#post1717633) However, on default settings screensaver hack doesn't allow me to use this bmp. Then I wonder if there is a way to change settings to allow this?
