There's no denying Tom Waits, he's a poet, an innovator, there isn't anybody like that man, and he just keeps getting better over time. There aren't many artists you can say that of.

i couldn't have said it better. i love that song too, and that's a brilliant choreography for it. tom waits is at the top of my list of favorite artists ; i just keep coming back to him.

i saw him in concert last summer : one of the best nights of my life.

Alas, I've missed about three seperate concerts through my own muddle-headedness. I'd love to see him live.

i missed out the last time he came to paris (before last summer) as well, and i have never forgiven myself for it. last summer was amazing though. i'll go again if i get the chance in a heartbeat.

Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis is my favorite on that album. I'd never really heard a 'story' in a song before I heard that one.

Seems like it's mostly the europeans who like Tom Waits, strange. We have Luxembourg, Paris and UK commenting on his music, but nobody from the US.

Oh and if you like his live stuff, try to get hold of the Tales from the Underground bootleg, it's amazing! Lots of different versions of classics on there, and some covers too.
