i hate hearing fireworks that i can't see ; it's intensely frustrating (i love fireworks).

Not all of the version I've got... (from the few words I know, I suspect that the French refrain is just the final stanza in French....).

the french transcription i found was sort of a mangled franglais, i corrected it according to what made sense (it's hard to understand some of the words)... the french version seems like just a translation of the english version. now i have to find the other song you mentioned...
