I installed the package individually and my Boyue T62+ is working fine. However there is one point to note. The installation script should not include the old version of Play Store. I believe the better way of installing the Play Store is as follows

1. Remove the installed Play Store by using the following command
   1. adb remount
   2. adb shell rm /system/app/Phonesky.apk
2. Find the new Play Store apk (find the latest version online) and install it
3. Convert the Play Store app into system application (I use Link2SD but I think Titianium Backup works too)

with this method I can use search app within the play store and I don't need the MarketHelper.

Here is my comment after using T62+ for few days

1. The refresh is good only using Book Reading Apps. But other apps (e.g. Bible or Pocket) just refresh after every page turn. I think it is kind of annoying. I used Creme Shine before and someone developed RefreshPie to control the refresh rate. I am not sure if the RefreshPie is working on T62+.
2. The TTS is not working for me. I installed IVONA and English Voice from Play Store. Then I entered the IVONA app and tried to play the script within the app. And it generate some robotic sound but not the speech.

You can only do "adb remount" and "adb shell rm /system/app/Phonesky.apk" can only b used if adb runs as root, which can not be done on production builds so you will need to either modify the ramdisk for unsecured adb or use the adbd insecure apk by Chainfire.

Thanks for the help. I found the option. Nothing seems to happen when I click on it repeatedly. I can see an entry for it in Any Cut, but the app force closes when I click OK.

I have a Boyue-T62D (unrooted) running stock rom Build number V1.1.1-2015040111

Anyways I'll keep trying when I get some more free time and post results here.

I just received my T62D too, and have the exact same problem. I have been trying without success to enable the developer options so I can turn on USB debugging.

I tried Any Cut, along with Track Android Hack Free, and they just crash or cause 'settings' to crash. I wonder if there's any way to install an older update on the device, or if anyone has any other recommendations for getting this to work? Very frustrating because I can't root or even connect to my computer without it!

If your ROM is like the stock ROM on my Wayteq was then you don't need to do anything as adb debugging is already enabled (and if I remember right it also was on the Boyue and Icarus ROM's) and also the developer options menu is totally missing from those ROM's. All you will probably need to do it install the right adb driver and you're good to go.

Yep, adb debugging working fine (was already enabled) with the stock ROM

I installed the T61C IMG on my Icarus Illumina e653.
Now the Icarus Illumina is off and i cant turn it on.
Only if I press the refresh button 8 secuonds and connect to pc (like unbrick) I see the green button in Rockhip BatchTool. So i need an IMG file for the Icarus Illumina...

To get into bootloader mode shut device downl (longpress power button), press refresh button while switching it on.
See here and there for more explanation.
Ah, you were quicker, I see you found it. Be carefull, you are better off if only flashing the system image. There are different e653 versions, one is with carta another with pearl screen...

I flashed the T61B IMG. Now it's Chinese and it boots but the screen does not react. Is there a original old firmware of the Icarus Illumina E653?

I don't know about the images but start reading this thread from the beginning, there are several reports about this problem and how to solve this.
But first you should make clear if you have pearl or carta display.

Ok I recived a update.zip for my Icarus Illumina E653 from support@icarusreader.com but I can't update it via adb or recovery. The touch dosn't work. Is there an other way to update the firmware like a custom recovery?

It works!
I extracted the boot.img from the update.zip and installed it.
The touch works and I updatet the ereader.
Now it works fine.

To me it seems the opposite. My Icarus bricked after doing the Icarus E653 update. I flashed it with Rockchip to the boyue 'B', still didn't work. I then flashed it to the Boyue 'C' and it works, although I would love to have the Icarus firmware on it.

Is there somewhere to get a more updated .img file for my T62B? I used the one in 6- How to unbrick your device from the first post, but something must be missing. After that finished successfully I updated, but the kernel is keeping the device awake. I have a few previous update.zip files and tried those but with similar results. The device uses 3% to 5% per hour with no use even if I don't install anything. This leaves it virtually unusable for me.

I've done a factory reset before and after flashing the .img file so there's nothing left over. I am also getting android.process.acore has stopped after rooting even though I didn't install the contacts or calendar sync apks.

Edit: it also usually locks up after going to sleep - I have to hold the power button 10 seconds to force a reboot. This is both from automatically going to sleep and sleeping from me pushing the power button.

I don't have the T62B but only the T62C.
According to the RK3026 thread it is possible to use newer ROMS from Energy Sistem Ereader Pro or C67ML BUT only the system partition (if more than the system partition is flashed, touchscreen is reported to stop working). For the C67ML system.img you have to adapt your boot.img to have a working backlight control. Those changes do not interfere with the Energy System Ereader Pro system.img, meaning if done well you can use ist with the other ROMs too. FOV has anounced a new C67ML port for Boyue (1.7.3). This will be a great ROM with good batterylife. But remember, extract only the system.img out of the ROM and flash it after having changed your boot.img. If you can't wait that long, create your own ROM out of the downloadable Energy Ereader Pro ROM version 4, extract and update it as I described here with the Energy Ereader Pro update.zip version 5.

About the expectable batterylife (0,2% in sleep) I wrote something there

I can build the firmware for T62B & T61... But it is advisable that You posted the last update from this book with a dump partition Recovery, So I was able to collect the full firmware for You to be able to fall back to the native firmware.
