I think you'll like it. It has a total of 8 gb of internal storage. Out of that, about 1 gb is for apps. One person on this forum said that the Afterglow 2 only has 350 MB for apps, but I've seen no confirmation of that. The dual core processor makes it reasonably quick - faster than my Onyx Boox T68. I now use my T62 much more than I do my T68.

It feels solid enough, so I'm hopeful that it will last.

If you have rooted devices before, I recommend rooting your T62 and installing a CPU control app like SetCPU. You'll see better battery life. That will also let you install Google Play Store, if you wish. Check out the guide by nightboy for how to do that.

I ordered mine from Banggood. It took almost three weeks for mine to arrive here in the USA. But, the device was well-packaged and protected, so I was satisfied.

Thanks for posting this. That's something I should have done. Where does my brain go?

I'm now running the E653 firmware (the 11/18/2014 version) on my T62. There isn't much difference between the Icarus and the Boyue firmwares, as far as menu options and the like. But the E653 firmware looks a tad cleaner. I'll see how it runs on my T62 as compared to the Boyue T62B firmware.

Yeah, where was your brain? And you mean 11-10, not 11-18, right?

I've locked up a few times already - I'm thinking of going to the T62 and trying that. I'm on the E653 as well.

Actually, on the icarusreader.com site, the latest update for the E653 is 11/18!

The one issue I have seen so far with the E653 rom on the T62 is that it can be slow to wake from sleep (like some humans?). It always does, but it can take a couple of minutes before everything is fully functional.

So maybe what I thought was locking up was that slow to wake. Though I just now got an error that iReader has stopped and I see no time on my clock widget and 0 battery in my GSAM battery widget. When it came back GSAM battery monitor looks like it just rebooted - the time used is just minutes.

I had mine set to shutdown after 60 minutes last night and it never shut down. Good news is it was not held awake and used only .4% per hour! Mine was held awake almost all the time before. I think I may flash the image in the first post and start over. Titanium backup makes that easy to deal with.

When you flash the image, I wonder if doing a factory reset would help. (Unless you do that ordinarily when you flash a new ROM.) I didn't do a factory reset when flashing the E653 over the T62B. Odd thing was that even Play Store still worked after the flash. I only lost root, which was easy enough to get back.

I haven't had any error messages, but my device remains slow to wake. The last thing to come back is wifi. That takes a couple of minutes longer than everything else. I'll see how it does for a while, and then decide if I want to keep the E653 or go back to the Boyue T62B firmware.

Incidentally, even though the Icarus web site claimed that their update is 11/18, it is the same as the 11/10 update from nightboy's thread!

I just woke mine up from a 16 hour sleep and it woke up fine. I guess it needs a certain amount of sleep before it can wake up properly?

Mine won't go to sleep on it's own anymore. I tried the one minute and 30 seconds sleep settings, but it won't sleep. I just used the power button to put it to sleep manually and after 30 seconds or so the front light came on the screen came on, and my clock and battery widgets were blank. They came on and this time it went to sleep after 30 seconds.

I was just about to submit this and it woke on its own again but without time or battery widget data. It seems to do a mini reboot because the battery stats are reset as if it did reboot. I went to the T62 rom without a wipe, so I'm going to go back to the E653 and if it's still acting up I'll do a wipe.

Good luck with your plan to go back to the E653 rom. I hope it works well for you. It seemed to work well for you before. It's funny how I've had the opposite experience - the E653 rom doesn't work quite so well for me. I went back to the Boyue T62B rom this evening, and it runs very smoothly, with no wipe. I'll probably stick with this one, though I could be tempted to take some other compatible rom for a test drive. But not too tempted. The reading experience is quite good.

P.S. I like your cat avatar. I had a Maine Coon a few years ago, and had to give him up when I moved.

Thanks. I could never give her up. We've had her since she was a year old and she will turn 16 this year (hopefully). She even goes on vacation with us the past four years because she needs medicine three times a day and won't let anyone else near her.

Has anyone been able to get Google Docs running on the T62? I'm rooted and was able to download the app. It opens, briefly, then gives an error message that is impossible to read. The only choices are "Report" and "Close"? I've seen this happen with a couple of other apps, too, including Chrome. Any advice? Thanks! choripan
