Thanks for your help. Still, for some reason, the RKBatchTool doesn't see my T62, nor does ADB. What's weird about this is that I used a similar tool (the mfg tool) to change the firmware on my Onyx Boox T68 that had crashed, and that worked flawlessly on my Windows 8.1 laptop. In Device Manager, I see a "rockchip USB device" when my T62 is connected to my laptop, so I assume that this is the correct driver. I'll have to put these toys away for a little while. Maybe I'll see whatever I'm missing later on. I tried on a Windows tablet - same result.
Well, I'll give it another try later. Thanks again. |

I finally solved the problem with the Rockchip Batch Tool not seeing my device. I was hunting online, and I found out about a simple edit for the config file that helped some people who have Windows 8.1. I did the edit, and then the Tool saw my device and flashed the B firmware - which works. In the process, it wiped all my apps and data, but I can install them again. Once the firmware was installed, it was all Chinese, but I found where to change the language. It then indicated a new update, so I downloaded that.
One addition I see in settings is the same toggle for apps to use the volume keys as the E653 firmware has. |

Thanks for all of you. I almost give up on my T61 until I tried the iCarius firmware. The reader is quite user friendly now. The main reading app is Adobe Reader and re-flow works well. Battery life is decent.
Here is the link: http://194.33.112.113/~icarusre/open...ormation_id=11 Anyone compared this firmware with T61-B or T61-C? Information appreciated. Last edited by lshao; 01-03-2015 at 02:43 PM. Reason: wrong date |

It is for ICARUS Illumina (E653BK/E653RD/E653WE).
From iCarius official site and the link works at this moment: http://194.33.112.113/~icarusre/open...ormation_id=11 |

Confirmed, Icarus E653 is T61B. You can try it or read E653's build prop

For those using Calibre on T6x: what device do you have it setup as ?
I noticed Calibre doesn't have direct support for Boyue devices. I've set mine up as "Android tablet w/out Kindle". Is there a better choice ? |

If Calibre works fine for you as you have it set up, I'd say you're good! If you haven't tried Calibre Companion, though, it might be worth checking out. |

I use both CC and Calibre. And I do connect wirelessly as well. And everything works wonderfully.
The Device type matters when you're trying to customize certain things. Like priority of certain filetypes over others. |

I think you can contact the Calibre dev and request a driver for Boyue devices. He did a driver for the Boox T68 in one of his updates. That would help you and other people as well.

I don't think anything needs to be done for the T62. I've used both the T62 and the T68 with CC. The T62 works much better with CC because scrolling works much better.

I have my default output set to tablet if that's what you're asking.

Thank you both.
Yes, that's what I was asking. But on further inspection it looks like the customizations for all the different device interfaces are actually the same: file type order, and template of the directory path where to save the books. Thus it's not that important what device type we actually choose ... |
