Hi kartu,

The home button is supposed to exit, and the options button opens a panel to allow the user to select between week starting on Sunday or Monday. They both work on my 600.

Sincerely,
Ben.

The question over at the-ebook.org is: the calendar does not work on-screen button "Exit" and "options"

There are no "on-screen-buttons" with this functions.
"Quit" and "Options" in small letters just above the statursbar are just soft-labels for the hardware-buttons.

Hi Victor,

I have just pushed an update of the Calendar app to the repository. I have added buttons (and keys 8/9 for non-touch) to allow for scrolling of events if there are more than 6 events on a particular day. (Note that I have only tested this on the Sim, but it should be OK!)

There is one problem with the way I have done this. It won't work correctly if the event descriptions take more than one line. If your event descriptions fit into one line, everything should be fine!

Sincerely,
Ben.

Ben,

you may have a look at the trace-window in the sim.
It uses (auto-)scroll and a scroller. Not sure if this will work on a device, but OTOH Dictionary-App for 505 uses scroll too.
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

I worked out a different way to do the same sort of thing. I think it will work out OK. Thanks all the same!

Sincerely,
Ben.

Hi Victor,

No, and there are no plans to add anything that would allow the user to do this. If you want to do major deletions, I would recommend connecting the reader to a computer and editing the calendar data directly.

Sincerely,
Ben.

That's right. Only one icon will be shown at a time.

Guys, let's stop adding new features (not counting those from clone reps) and focus on fixing existing issues, or 2.0.13b will never see the light.

PS
Mark, can we have a more prominent overlap marker?
PPS
For some reason some lines on the first page are also marked as "overlapping" even though they aren't shown on the next screen. (landscape mode) :S

Hi kartu,

I just had to add one more thing to Calendar, anticipating a future complaint! Now there is an indicator on each day showing how many events are on that day (if greater than zero). Changes have been pushed to the repositories.

And with that, I won't add anything more! Let me know if there is something specific you would like me to help with (other than the 950 problem - that one is beyond me, I am afraid...)

Sincerely,
Ben.

Now the standard asset from kBookAssets.png (a grid of white dots in a transparent background, right under the four arrows) is used.
We could try to chang the dot-pattern, or use a semi-opaque solid fill

In general, or under certain conditions?

With the original code used in kbookPage.draw on both pages one line to much was masked.

I thought I fixed this by changing max- / min-overlap.
Tested this with PDF and LRF files, both with margin-cut on and off.

Can you post screen-shots, please?

Regards
Mark

Dashed line works nice in Opera browser. Looks like >-------------------<

Quote:

Only tried it with one LRF file. In landscape mode it was split into 2 pages (maybe that's why you didn't see it). First page always had "overlapping" part marked, even though it wasn't shown on the next page. (I don't think it makes much sense to mark it on previous page anyway)

PS
Can't post screenshots atm. Overlapping part is marked by having a bith lighter color than the rest of the screen. Looks like exactly the same part of the screen is selected.

Masking in Landscape-Mode - NotMaskOverlap = "false" / "Off"

Hi,

please find attached some screenshots:
1-3 PDF, Portrait, Landscape 1 of 2, Landscape 2 of 2.
4-6 same with LRF File.

Please note, that you can read along the black (not masked) text when turning from 1st half to the 2nd half-page. This is exactly the same behaviour as with the PRS-505.

Obviousely the text "below" the half-page-mark is masked, and is/or isn't repeated on the second half-page.
BUT the flow of the non-masked, full-black text is consistent between 1st and 2nd half.
