Hello Victor,

as kartu already replied it is (should be) possible to have images and audio-files shown in browse folders.

Unfortunately the internal-structures vary from model to model, so we will have to find the correct prototypes / nodes for the PRS-505.

I havn't looked into this right now, and I'm not sure if/when I will do.

I've split addons (addon js only, all resources are still in the same folder) into "addons" and "addons1" folders (script too big problem ) Don't get confused when pulling the latest changes.

True, but we'll inevitably get "oh, I need to do one more click to get to <some game> now". However, as long as menu customizer allows to show "games" on main menu, this is fine.

I have made the changes. 600 and x50 now has a games node. I know it works on my 600, but have no way to check x50. Hope everything is OK!

Hi Ben,

I can confirm that your changes are working with my PRS-650.
Games are now in games-node under more.
Games & Util is accessible thru menu-customizer.

950 report, since games seem to affect each other (starting one might lead to the other stopping) I've been doing full restarts before testing for each one:

Calc - OK
Calendar - is broken when you open it (buttons react with animation, but do nothing) / reboots when exiting
Chess - hangs when opening (with "congratulations, you did it") / reboots when exiting
Draughts - OK
Five balls - OK
Five in a row - hangs when opening
FreeCell - OK
MahJong - hangs when opening (with "congratulations, you did it")
MineSweeper - hangs when opening
Sudoku - hangs when opening
Solatire - OK
XO-Cubed - OK

PS
In previous version, "game X hangs if started after game Y" problem was still there, but all games could be started.

Ouch! That's quite a list of problems. Of all these, Five in a row might be the easiest to deal with since it is less complicated than the rest (and I used it as a template when I created XO-Cubed, which works!) So it might be more obvious to see what is causing the problem and then see if the same issue exists with the others.

Re backgammon - I've found this javascript/DHTML version: http://www.thomasweibel.ch/backgammon/. The board seems to be back to front to me. Also it is not clear whether it is open source. But it would probably make a very good starting point (would need to switch the board around).

This normally happens when the script loaded by "autorun.xml" contains any ECMA-script-errors.
So the xml code is interpreted but the JS code fails or didn't call/pass target.init()

But why is this happening only on 950? Does it use a different JS engine?

I looked at Five in a Row and XO-Cubed and couldn't see anything obvious. (A lot more of the functions in Five in a Row were missing a final "return", but that wouldn't be it, would it?!?)

I was looking for something unusual that was only in the 950 files and discovered that

updateSiblings = function(fieldName)

is in both 950_bootstrap.js and common_350_650_950.js with the only difference being in the 950_bootstrap.js file the code in the catch is

PARAMS.bootLog("In updateSiblings " + e);

but in common_350_650_950.js it is

bootLog("In updateSiblings " + e);

It might not be causing the issues with the addons, but I though it was worth mentioning.

Hi Ben,

I vaguely recall I had to do ugly copy n paste for a timezone node. It can't be the cause. (happens only when user choses something via PRS+ settings).

I've managed to hang games on 650. Most likely memory isn't fully freed when closing autorun apps... =/

Hi kartu,

And there are times when I have hung my 600 whilst playing games (happened last night playing MahJong!) But it does not happen very often, and after a soft-reset everything is fine.

If it is memory management (or lack thereof!) it makes sense that it happens all the time with the 950, since presumably it has the same hardware/memory specs as the other models but requires more software loaded and running to handle internet access!

By the way, guys, did you try if overriding "draw" works in test environment?

Switching to programmatic "draw" could solve some of our problems. Tiling single image programattically in a loop could be much more efficient than having UI XML with dozens of items. XML would then contain only basic sprites, that would be used by "draw".
