I've just pushed the latest Calendar app changes to the repository.

Changelog: "Event popup panel working (apart from changing description); delete event; fixed floating events"

The event popup is only for Touch at the moment. PLEASE DON'T try it on a 505! I'll get to it soon. I will also try and implement a virtual keyboard so that the event description can be changed.

There are still a couple of problems with the calendar app, apart from the fact that the description cannot be changed (yet!).

Weekly and Monthly repeated events are not handled properly, and it is currently quite time consuming to add a new icon (if one was requested). So I am going to change the way icons are assigned to events. This means some significant changes to the edit events popup, but most importantly, it means changes to the events file format. I am not sure how long this will take.

I am writing this to make sure that everyone is aware that changes are coming, and not to spend hours putting hundreds of events into their calendars!

Hi everyone,

The latest version of the Calendar app has now been pushed to the repository.

Changelog: Monthly/weekly events now work; changed event file format to include icon number; changed event popup panel to include icon; added more icons; weekend shaded slightly.

What this means is that you will need to manually edit your existing calendar.dat file, or delete it and the app will recreate the base events for you.

The base events now look like this:

Y;1;1;1900;12;New Year's Day
Y;2;14;1900;6;Valentine's Day
F;3;0;0;14;Easter Sunday
Y;3;17;1900;10;St. Patrick's Day
F;11;4;5;11;Thanksgiving
Y;12;25;1900;5;Christmas

The number before the description is the icon number. Default event icon is "3".

You can change the icon from within the app itself, so the easiest way to update your existing file would be to connect your reader to the computer, edit the calendar.dat file, add "3;" before the description of each event, and then disconnect the reader. When you start the calendar app, you can then click on each event, and change the icon.

This should work on non-Touch as well. It hasn't been extensively tested, so if you find something odd, please let me know.

Hi Ben,

I have found a small error. The weekly events are well marked when the week starts Sunday, but when the week starts Monday, the Calendar marks the day later.

With my 505 it seems that the application works well.

as this was a rainy day, here near vienna, I used the time to do some changes to the Sim-Code, and as well "messed" up with your calendar-code.

Hi everyone,

Changes to Calendar app pushed to repository. Changelog: Various bug fixes; new weekly event now shows day of clicked date. Note that, thanks to Mark's additions, the app can automatically upgrade the event file format, so you don't have to manually do it. You will, though, have to change the icons, but that can be done in the app.

@surquizu: the bug you found has been fixed.

@Mark: Thanks for adding those features! I have just done an update with some bug fixes (for some other issues, not anything you did!) and have kept most of the changes. However, I was not sure why you had commented out those big chunks in the ntHandleEventsDlg function, since it didn't seem to work afterwards!

The idea was to enable/disable, mouseEnter/mouseLeave only elementes neighboring the current element, as with the 300/505 you can only step from one to another.
But I admit that I messed up with some elemets

Just a note for those of you building your own PRS+ with the Calendar app. After Mark's changes, you need to also update Calendar.js (the start-up script) since the new load events routine uses a new system function.

I've just pushed a new game to the app repository: Solitaire (or Peg Solitaire as it is also known). If you find anything, please let me know.

It should work with both Touch and non-Touch readers. There are three layouts built in: English (this is the default one that I am used to!), French (or European), and Square (I don't even know if this is solvable!)

Click on a marble to remove it, and then start jumping! Most people remove the center one, and the aim of the game is to be left with one marble in the center position. Good luck!
