Settings look fine. When you hold "center" ebook must shutdown in both menu (except some screens like "about") and in books.

There could be a bug related to changing the settings back and forth. In this case, rebooting should help.

I think his problem is that he has lost the normal ENTER function on a short press, not the shutdown on a long press.

Kartu if you configured when in menu holding press joypad shutdown, you can't enter in other menus, try to enter (in any menu) once made the change, you have to press the number buttons if you want to select them, but if the change is only made when in reading, when you press center joypad will do the same function that press the number buttons.

I guess he has first assigned it to "center" and then to "center-hold" which didn't work as expected because of a bug. (center is a bit problematic, because the same function is called for both "center" and "hold-center" internally)

Should work after restart, anyway, since settings are correct.

Kartu I've restarted and reset the reader and the problem is the same. I don't understand because only ocurrs in when in menu not when in reading.

yeah, that is what I'm thinking too, he might have assigned them to Center button and not the CENTER HOLD button.
Maybe he can try seeing what the center button is set to and make it default.
My center button didn't change and it works as normal. And CENTER HOLD works for me PERFECTLY. It could be bug but it is hard for me to understand 1/2 of what he says. Is english a second language for him? If so, he is doing great because I have not learned how to write or read another language yet.

No, "0x27-hold" is "hold center", his settings are correct.

Could you try to use "center" button for navigation in menu?

yeah, but he never posted what his CENTER BUTTON was set to, only his CENTER HOLD. If he had posted CENTER BUTTON settings we could see if they are set right, or he can set them to default and see if that fixes the problem. I'm trying to guess at what he is saying, and it is fun to try to figure it out, like charades.

I assume he has posted entire config file. Since "center button" assignment is not present there, it means that it is set to default.

oh, ok, I didn't know he posted the WHOLE config file. I'll let you figure it out for him. I was just thinking this was a "failure to communicate thing".

kartu, I previously had both menu and read joypad hold center set to shutdown. I also had joypad center in read set to page forward. I decided that I wanted to go back to the default for the standard joypad center so I could use it as enter again. Going back to default did not restore the function even after rebooting via shutdown nor after a hard reset via the hole in the back.

I finally had to go back to the initial firmware. I then put PRSplus back on my 505. I set the Menu joypad center hold to shutdown and left the rest alone. Setting the Menu joypad center hold to shutdown did cause the ability to use the center button to select menu items to cease working.

I just now set my 505 to the same settings in the 1st paragraph (to try and replicate the error) and again I can't go back to default functionality. The menu says it is default but it doesn't work. Of course I locked it up again doing this. I'll unbrick it later, but I was able to repeat the trouble.

When I get it working again I'm just going to use the joypad center hold for shutdown and leave the rest alone.

Just wanted VICTORSJG and you to know he wasn't alone. Most folks (like me) use the numbers to select menu items and don't even notice they lost the ability.

Tip for everyone:

To reset settings of any addon, just delete corresponding file in /database/system/PRSPlus/settings.

Both kind of reboots have exactly the same effect, if one doesn't work, neither would the other.

Strange. To fix your problem, just delete the Key bindings file (I forgot the extension

) in settings folder. But before you do it, please post it's content.

The only 2 settings I did in binding keys was CENTER HOLD in both menu and book. And the Menu center button works no problems for me. I can use the up and down joypad and then click the Center button and it goes to the right place.
It could be that certain combinations may cause a problem, or "default" setting doesn't work properly, I have not "applied" the default setting on anything, I'll let others try that or share their experience with that.

I can't check my settings (left the cable at work) but I will tonight when I go back to work.

I just changed the Read joypad center back to all defaults, rebooted and now my select during reading is working again. But when I had the joypad center hold set to shutdown in the read menu I could not use the joypad center to select things in the read area. It makes going through newspapers pert near impossible.

It seems that setting joypad center hold to shutdown in either menu or read causes the regular joypad center to be non-functioning.

I'm back to normal, joypad center hold set to shutdown for menus only. The joypad center button can't be used to select in the menus, but I'm good with that.
