The latest version of games doesn't seem to improve situation with 950 hanging, if anything, it got worse.

XO-Cubed: Update
Hi everyone,
I've updated the AI in XO-Cubed. The end result is really quite challenging. So much so, that I decided to put in a difficulty selection. There are two difficulty levels: easy and hard. (I think this is as much AI as I want to do, so updates may be less frequent from now on.) And to prove that it is still possible to win with difficulty "hard", I've attached a screenshot. Sincerely, Ben. |

It is ONLY possible to move more than one card if there are free cells available. So to move a group of two cards, you must have one free cell available. Technically, you should click on the first card and move it to a free cell. Then you can click on the second card and move it to the new column. Then you move the first card out of the free cell to the new column. The short-cut move (where you move the two cards onto the new column) just saves all the clicking, but it still assumes that is what happened. So let me explain your pictures. In number 1, you have no free cells, so it is impossible to move more than one card at a time. In number 2, you only have 1 free cell but you are trying to move 3 cards which requires 2 free cells. In number 3, you have 3 free cells, but you are trying to move 6 cards which would require 7 free cells. Does that make sense? Sincerely, Ben. |

XO-Cubed: Update
Hi everyone,
Just a few more additions to XO-Cubed (available in the repository). I added some more to the AI and then added another difficulty level: 'very hard'. It is still possible to beat it at this new level, but you have to work at it a lot more (see screenshot below). Also, the losing player now goes first the next game. This includes 1 Player mode, so sometimes the reader goes first! Let me know if you find any problems. Sincerely, Ben. |

XO-Cubed: Another Update
Hi everyone,
Well, I made a few small changes to the game. I got rid of the "very hard" setting. Now there is just easy and hard. I made a few more tweaks to the AI, and got rid a couple of bugs. Let me know if you discover anything strange. I haven't done a lot of testing since the changes, but more importantly I haven't yet won in the new-look "hard" mode. I assume it is possible, but I did put quite a lot of blocking into the AI, so who knows! Latest version in the repository: here Sincerely, Ben. EDIT: Yes, it is possible to win on hard: Last edited by BenChen; 04-07-2011 at 12:56 PM. Reason: Added screenshot |

Just to avoid redundancies, I've started on MineSweeper.
When I have more then a first sketch of the UI, I will push it to repository. |

Hi Mark,
I noticed your recent update on the repository removed XO-Cubed from the menus. I have put it back in, and pushed to the repository. Good luck with Minesweeper. How are you going to handle not having a left and right mouse button? One possibility is to have a tools panel with two tools: a "flag placer" tool and a "step on button" tool. Then you can do everything with single clicks. The "flag placer" tool would toggle through "I think there is a mine here", "not sure what is here", and "nothing is here" icons. The "step on button" tool would reveal what is in fact underneath that button. (There's still the "hold left click on number and press right to release all buttons around that number" functionality. That could be done by using the "step on button" tool and a single click on the number.) Not sure how all this would go with a non-Touch reader, though. Perhaps a button that toggles which tool is currently active? All of the above is just a suggestion! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. ![]() (By the way, I like the fact that you can set the FSK Sim to be Touch by default!) Sincerely, Ben. |

I was struggling to get up the new prsp.js starter script with langugage-support instead of PRSPlus.js, and cleaning out the uggly "error while replicate" on startup of the Sim, so I must have messed up with XO-Cubed. Thanks for fixing that. Quote:
![]() Thought of a "Mode-indicator" top-right in the menu bar. (Already put) Showing "Mode: step", or "Mode: flag" In a first attemp, mode-switching will be bound to previous/next keys Quote:

Theoretically the Sim provides now language-support. Also setable via user.config. But I couldn't test so far. Regards Mark |

First "working" version of MineSweeper pushed to the repository!
Only Beginner-Level, only for Sim and maybe touch-devices.
If anyone is so brave to test this on a real device please report if the squares are large enough for gameplay. I assume that the stylus will be needed. But on the other hand for Intermediate and Expert level 15 columns and even more rows are necessary. PS: the porting of the scripts suggested by TJ27 works very smooth so far.
