Kartu, I just played a little. I sometimes extract pdf as jpg. I then organize the jpgs in folders. Unfortunately, the jpgs don't show up in the folder view, so I still have to go via pictures menu. Any way to get this?

I'm not able to get this to workThe SD card with the flash files does nothing. I'm attaching images of the files on the SD card and those in the database/system directory. Have I left something out?

is it also possible to use a Memory Stick intead of a SD card to flash the PRS 505?

It should be, but since nobody mentions its possibility I am unsure and ask you guys.

Sorry, just found that this included in the poll.

Yes, picture viewing experince has become even worse because of the game images. I'll have to filter them out in the next versions. (I wonder, if just changing extensions to "bla" would work )

2 things actually:

1) Missing Sony Reader/software/autorun.xml and autorun.js files
2) Under /database/system you should have
PRSPlus folder with PRSPlus.js file and addons subfolder (containing about a dozen folders/files)

Hold on, I'll check if igorsk is explicitly referencing SD card.

Am I misreading the installation instructions.

Download and extract my version of flasher-igorsk.zip (remove "Sony Reader\software" folder from your SD card as well as all folders that start with "505.", before you do it) to your SD card

2) Under /database/system you should have
PRSPlus folder with PRSPlus.js file and addons subfolder (containing about a dozen folders/files)

Okay, I added the Sony Reader folder back to the SD Card and it worked!

I've just checked the flasher, well, on the one hand, everything seems to be location agnostic. On the other libfskload.so is explicitly referencing "b:\" (that's a path to SD card), but it's probably part of the code that is not used in this case.

So to summarize, it's very likely that it will work from MS card.

My confusion is that I was starting with a clean card in a card reader not the 505.

just to confirm for those interested this hack will work with memory sticks aswell as sd cards.
i just purchased an 8 gig stick and i'm in the process of transferring my library to it.

just noticed that with both cards in i can access books directly on my memory stick but i am asked to copy book to internal memory when accessing my sd card.

dont know why tho????

I am sorry if it wasn't stated clear enough, but at the moment you can:
1) either disable external card scanning and copy books you want to read to internal memory, but not open them directly from SD/MS card
2) open them directly from SD/MS card.

It's written on the first page of the project:
"Note: Important option of "Browse Folders" is: disabling MS/SD card scanning (configurable). In this mode, external card scanning is instant, option to copy book to internal memory appears if you try to open book located on SD/MS card, but it's no longer possible to open books directly on SD/MS card. (advanced users can enable/disable card scanning per card, by creating ".noscan" file in the root of the card)"

Maybe someone could suggest better wording. I'll mark the "it's no longer possible to open books directly on card" with bold meanwhile.

Kartu i amn't sure if i understand you, If i disable the scan sd or ms card from browse folders settings (these card haven't .noscan file) i can copy file by browse folders from external card to internal memory, and if i enable the scan sd or ms card from browse folders settings i can read the books, watch pictures and listen music directly external memory.

Hi all. I didn't get to write up the new functions yet, but promise to do this soon, maybe even tonight. Maybe my wording will get at least different to the existing one ;-)
