I did not realize the status is special for the wacom side.

Holy wow, Gunner! All that's in my "lowly" PE stylus? I have a little more respect for it now.

I wondered why I could use a fingernail on the tablet screen, but not the Reader. Now I know - and "knowing is half the battle." :-)

Yup it's true, I cannot use a regular stylus on the eink side!

We had a client bring in one that she had broken and lost the inside, 'could we repair it'? Answer NO.

They are quite a precision device as they pick up power from the tablet to work.

I once snapped the Penabled stylus on my iRex iliad. Ripping it apart revealed a bewildering number of things -- coils and a myriad of o-rings and contacts.
