Is the chapter range documented anywhere in docs? I sometimes forget how to use it and searching forum thread is slow.

Random feature request that I don't know if possible: An option in personal.ini editor to open second window with defaults.ini. Make easier to look up things.

It's in the tooltip for the URL box, but that one says [1,2] and I usually use [1-2]. Both work.

Question: Is there a good way to apply update to a ranged fic to apply includes or replace_metadatas to title page?

Update Existing Fanfic retrieves all chapters. However, if I use Download With Fic and have multiple books with the same URL (as I prefer to separate them into oneshots) it not always get right one.

Deleting and re-downloading seems only option, or just updating metadata and editing the titlepage by hand.

first_chapter and last_chapter are undocumented settings equivalent to using a chapter range.

But if you have more than one story in your library with the same storyUrl in Calibre's identifier:url, you'd need to change personal.ini for each one. Personally, I remove the storyUrl identifier:url from splits to avoid accidents.

I suppose that's arguably a justification for per-story ini settings by custom column.

Honestly, a major reason I've not wanted to add that is to avoid having to help users troubleshoot issues when using both personal.ini and an ini custom column. I foresee there would a lot of cases users forgetting they'd set one or the other.

I think I would die if I did that. I'm relatively allergic to collections and navigate mostly by directory. So having folders: fandom/series/story is easier for me to find with less set up on my part. Unless I'm doing things wrong. I only recently started using KOreader and my Kindle to read fanfiction. I'm still working out the kinks on a lot of things. I use {id} as well, what did you think are the benefits of using {uuid}?

That did seem like the easier way. I would probably still use FFF to populate the column but just manually switch out crossovers. My brain says there should be a way to program it to change the data I want changed, but I don't know enough about the language to make it work. I was playing with a composite column and using switch and switch_if but it either it errors (should have even/odd arguments) or changes everything for some reason. I imagine if/else would work if I could figure it out.

Somehow I missed this part (probably something to do with the shock of having that many files in one location). I probably could set it up like that but idk. I like opening my home page and having the fandom folders right there. No searching required. Especially once I make it all pretty to look at with mosaic, instead of the info dump it currently is.

KOReader is largely designed for users who organize by folders. I'm the one doing things oddly, honestly.

Calibre's {id} is library unique--basically just an increasing integer--while {uuid} is a made up universally unique string (example: calibre:dcf61b0b-c049-4f23-ac2f-663eed3eb9d6).

So if you keep books in more than one library, you could end up with conflicting {id} values, but not with {uuid}.

Anyone else having problems with the latest version of fanficfare? It's failing on grabbing a royalroad story and worked fine the day before update.

Fixed yesterday in the test version. I didn't call it out as originating from royalroad, I'll go back and add that.

How would it work when in use? Would it just download whatever up to the point of failure or does it need to complete so many chapters?

I installed the previous test version and the newest version and the failure doesn't generate a single file for a book. I'm not well versed in this so perhaps I'm just missing something all together.

Generally, the error on FFF is the typical is flaresolverr running, but it will have already pulled down 10-100 chapters at this point. In this case specifically, it failed at 7 chapters
