There's no such configuration, no.

While technically possible, it would break the 'silo' walls between the adapters for different sites to allow 'chapters' to be on other sites. And lots of stories also link to a copy on the other site as well, which would leave you with two copies of the index/first chapter instead. It would also lead to difficulties if/when the different xenforo forum sites diverge more.

So basically, I should wait until the story is completed/probably abandoned, then download copies from both sites and use something along the lines of EpubMerge and Calibre's Edit Book? Thanks for the info.

When I merge duplicates, is there a way to combine the authors from all the books?

When I download stories from different sites, the penname is not always the same for a specific author.

I order to keep track on what's on my cloud library, I need a way to keep all the pennames/authors for one story, even if it's different from one site to another.

Does that make more sense?

No problems, I'll just "print" the whole story and convert it from there. I'd forgotten about that option, and having to download dozens of chapters was my main problem anyway.

That makes it even weirder that the Pocketbook software can find the first subfolder but not the others, then...

Flattening breaks the update anthology function, too, alas. I'm going to see if I can bug the Pocketbook/TEA people into making their software work :P

Thanks for the answers

Since FanFicFare has no way to tell the difference between (same-story, different-site, different-author) and (different-story, different-site, different-author), I can't think of an automated solution.

Manual solutions that come to mind are:
  • Add a custom column to populate with extra author names. Possible a long text column that you can use to also link to the author/story on the other site.
  • Set Authors to 'New Only' in the Standard Columns tab of FanFicFare config (so updates don't change it) and manually manage the authors column.
  • Set Comments to 'New Only' in the Standard Columns tab of FanFicFare config (so updates don't change it) and manually append links to the author/story on the other site to Comments.
  • Configure each 'duplicate' story in replace_metadata to add the other authors.
  • Configure each author with 'duplicate' stories in replace_metadata to change to a combined name. IE, author is 'DeltaV' on one site and 'ChangeofVelocity' on another; use replace_metadata to change one(or both) to ''DeltaV-ChangeofVelocity'.

Thanks.

Is there anyway to move metadata from one column to another batch?

Hmm... Is there any option yet for getting an entire story off of SB/SV that has no index or threadmarks? Mainly this is focused on story-only archive posts where every post is part of the story.

I guess you could tell it to do all posts between #1-#?. Kinda like the Vote Tally program by Kinematics can do for counting votes? It can search every post after the last threadmark or look between two post #'s you give.

His app is here on github: https://github.com/Kinematics/NetTally

Not an easy solution to this I know. Just throwing something out there

That or I just need figure out how to do it manually I guess.

...
This has been discussed before:

If enough people start doing that, it's likely to use significant server resources, drawing attention from the admins and possibly prompting them to block the tool.

got a new one for you... (effects fanfic.net,TtH,hpfanficarchive) it was working well all day then after midnight my time (US Central) I started to get this error

calibre says epub updated but metadata was not

I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling FanFicFare (to make sure of updates)

here's what was copied to my clipboard

I've created a custom column for authors, and I would like it to be separated by &.

I'm not sure what to put in my personal.ini, because the following doesn't work:

Code:
join_string_authors:\s&\s
It's purple in the personal.ini, if that makes a difference.
