If I enable background updating of metadata, and have FFF set to "Overwrite when newer", it will overwrite all selected books regardless. (I backed out of the changes and retried without backgrounding the metadata update, and most of them no longer updated.)

EpubMerge Step in Anthology Creation / Update
I'm having problems making or updating anthologies on my mac, running mavericks, with current FFF, EpubMerge, and Calibre.
I start the process, it does the download step, then when it gets to the step where epubmerge would be called, nothing happens, and the job stops. I've tried reinstalling calibre, FFF, EpubMerge. It's any anthology on any site, so it's not a function of what it's downloading. It only fails on my macbook, and works fine on windows (Windows 10, everything else current). I'm not really sure what would be helpful in troubleshooting or whatever else I can try. Any ideas? Edit: The book is added to calibre, but blank. Clicking on it gives a no available formats error. First, try running calibre in debug mode (it's an option in the Preferences drop down) and see if you can get a debug log. Also, try downloading some stories individually and then use EpubMerge manually to merge them together. Ideally also in debug mode. Then please post the log(s) here. Thanks. |

Here you go. I searched for error, and found nothing relevant. Last edited by thatblondelady; 04-06-2016 at 12:47 AM. |

New test version posted (direct link)
2016-04-06 - Comment out some debug output. Might help with Mac issue? - Updates to adapter_literotica from davidfor with help testing from version365. - Update Translations. This might help with thatblondelady's mac issue. But it might not. It's really hard to debug problems that don't show up in debug. There are some new literotica.com options and improvements (thanks davidfor and version365). Code:
[literotica.com] ## Extract more erotica_tags from the meta tag of each chapter use_meta_keywords: true ## For multiple chapter stories, attempt to clean up the chapter title. This will ## remove the story title and change "Ch. 01" to "Chapter 1", "Pt. 01" to "Part 1" ## or just use the text. If this can't be done, the full title is used. clean_chapter_titles: false ## Add the chapter description at the start of each chapter. description_in_chapter: false |

![]() Edit: I was able to install the test version, and i still get the same result. I know there's probably not a lot that can be done, but there's the info. ![]() Last edited by thatblondelady; 04-06-2016 at 03:44 PM. |

So, I don't know if this is a FFF thing or a EpubMerge thing, but when I update anthologies that have a new story in them, the story doesn't get added to the list in the description. It's a small thing, but when I update one that has several new stories added, it's kind of hard to remember where it's stopped.

CLI Feature Request: Use '--normalize-list' with html file input.
I recently discovered the incredibly useful '--normalize-list' option for the CLI version of FanFicFare. Would it be possible to have this option, or one like it, also operate on a given html file? I currently have a lot of stories bookmarked in my browser that I would like to move over to managing with FanFicFare in Calibre. However, I have yet to find a way to extract all the relevant URLs from my bookmarks. I can export all my bookmarks to an html file though.

E:\jimm\Downloads\bookmarks.html Then you can use a file URL like so: Code:
fanficfare -n "file:///E:/jimm/Downloads/bookmarks.html" |
