Where is the battery level page in the new firmware?
Hi!
I updated my M92 with the new firmware (20120607). Where can I see the battery level in the new software? If I click the battery icon, the energy management page appears, not the battery lavel page! Why? |

Don't you have the display in the bottom right corner?

he probably means it doesn't show him the percentage estimate. As far as i know, it wasn't accurate at all anyway...

It has been removed already several months (and several firmware subversions) ago.
It was not explained why, but it was not very accurate and it was sort of confusing for many users. So I guess, that is the reason. |

I am since recently owner of an ICARUS eXcel. As far as I understand, it is the same as the Boox M92. Does this mean I can update my ICARUS with Boox firmware? (my current firmware = 1.7 20120207, am I right to assume this is the same versioning as the firmwares I see here?)

As far as I know M92 is produced in several variants. If ICARUS eXcel has audio ouput, WiFi and touch-pen than probably yes, if it lacks at least one than probably not. But wait for Booxtor's response or consult it on russian forums.

The issue is further complicated by the fact that different resellers may have also modified crucial software, such as bootloaders. Attempt to upgrade the firmware with incompatible/unsupported update may in the best case be unsuccessful or in the worst - brick the device.

Yes, that is true for example for the Polish variant of M92 with better TTS software.
In case of ICARUS eXcel, I would search russian forums or look at pages of russian official distributor. There will be the latest official firmware for the device. I've read, that firmware for 'standard' M92 is not possible to install on M92 without audio output. One of the reasons is, that the instalation procedure tests functionality of audio and if it does not work the instalation of firmware is aborted. Also should be mentioned that installing "non-official" firmware might void the garanty for the device and that any update of firmware might brick one if things go wrong. |

No way I am able to upgrade to firmware version 20120607 for my M92 reader.
The reader says no upgrade found on SD. All procedures were followed exactly according the book. What can I do ? |

You seem to have a unique reader. Sell it for the double price and buy a normal one.

Wondering once again why there's still no final release of M92's firmware, I had a look at the first post of this thread and noticed, that there is no "final" or "beta" any more?!
That's ... interesting? I don't know, whether I like that or not. All the time since I have bought the reader, I have been refusing upgrading the firmware because I wanted to wait for a "stable" version of 1.7 before upgrading. I liked the idea of some new features, but didn't really need them desperately, so I sticked to the working "official" 1.6. Hum... maybe I'll give the new version a try as soon as I passed this term's exams (I really need a working ereader till then). That won't be before august - hopefully I will get a version that has overcome the annoying issues referred to on the last several pages of this threads.
