I'm stuck in a wretched RV in pouring down rain. Rain all day, all night. We even got into the pool in a torrential downpour, foolishly thinking that "... as long as we are going to get wet anyway..." It turns out that you actually can be wetter than simply being submerged in a swimming pool. This thing is leaking like a sieve. I have little plastic bowls sitting around to catch the water. However, it turns out that you can, in fact, get even wetter. We went to sleep with the bedroom windows cracked, you know, to sort of blow out some of the mildew smell. Woke up to a driving rain blowing from one side of the bedroom to the other. Bedding, walls, carpet ... AND MY SONY COVER ... were drenched. By perhaps the only bit of luck on this miserable holiday, it was lying spine toward the window, so the device inside stayed dry-ish. The "ish" is because nothing in this rain is really dry. This is the same storm that stopped the space shuttle from landing when it dumped over 2 feet of rain in Florida on Friday. So I'm sitting here awake and soggy at 4:00am, watching the lightning, feeling the RV rocking in the wind, and wishing I was home. Oh goody. The rain just picked up again and I can barely hear myself think. Whoever said the sound of rain on a metal rooftop was relaxing was an idiot. |

as someone who has seen enough rain to last her entire life already, and whose living room was flooded by an unusually torrential downpour just last week, you have my deepest and most sincere sympathy, dixiegal. i really hope the weather clears up soon for you. |

Why couldn't yesterday be like today? Yesterday, the weather was perfect, except for the wind. It came from completely the wrong corner which made the hammock location a bit chilly. Today, it's a clear blue sky, hardly any wind and I have to sit inside all day... |

We had some pretty fierce storms here yesterday. I was driving home and lightning kept striking right by my car. I had to wait in the garage (which is detached) until the storm got a little farther, it was striking right by our house. I was scared |

Riddle me this: I'm just back from the wettest non-beach vacation in the history of the world. There was a 20 minute period when the rain stopped and we went outdoors. Overcast, gloomy, and gray. How in the name of all that is good did I get a sunburn? It has been raining since we got home today also. I was cleaning out The Love Shack, had the windows open. The gentle rain attacked, rain went completely across from one wall to the other. I was running around closing windows, wiping up more puddles. Now it is raining so hard it washed out the satellite signal. |
