Whether most people like the page turning visuals or not, from Apple's perspective, patenting the booger makes business sense.

Yes, page turns will be a thing of the past soon either way.
Pure cosmetics. It's good for about the first 10 pages, then you are over it. It's like putting vinyl crackle into an MP3. |

This is really a good invention by Apple which deserves to get patented. I had not see such invention but no we will get to see a lot of these types. iTurn is so much better than ripping the pages off when you are done reading it. software patents

Another page turn hater here. Always found them pretentious. What more I believe they actually hurt user experience.

For some reason, animations such as these greatly slow me down using a device. That's not only true for tablets, but also for computers with animated windows and such.
Therefore I think that, if I'd use animated page turns, my reading speed would slow down at the end of the page, and the beginning of the next. |
