Woo, got a fresh review for Bodily Harm, $.99.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Funny, Unique Romp--Thoroughly Enjoyed it!, April 1, 2011 By Rebecca Knight This review is from: Bodily Harm: A Short Story (Kindle Edition) This short story was definitely worth the buy. Vitka's tale is hilarious and refreshing--entertaining through and through. The premise is that a man's body fights back after years of being neglected and mistreated, by way of bad food, smokes, and booze. The ending is abrupt, but totally appropriate. Loved it! |

Oh if you insist, my arms hurting so much because of you twisiting it! ;-)
I recently gave away 550 copies of my thriller Impeding Justice to the good people on this site and I'm hoping some of them will at least look at the sample of the sequel Final Justice. Here's the blurb After suffering a breakdown and quitting the force, former Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins is contacted by a friend at MI6 to help in a covert operation. Against her will, Lorne is convinced to help track down an old enemy, a sadistic and calculating criminal whose ambition is to become the world's richest man. It’s up to Lorne and the agent to prevent him, which results in a chase through France. And a 5 star review. 5.0 out of 5 stars even better than book 1!, 17 Mar 2011 By Steven Morris - See all my reviews This review is from: Final Justice (A Lorne Simpkins thriller) (Kindle Edition) Final Justice is the sequel to the excellent Impeding Justice where we first meet DI Lorne Simpkins who is attempting to apprehend the killer called the unicorn. With the end of Impeding Justice it was obvious that there would be a sequel, and what a sequel it is! In my view, this book is better than the first book in the series for a number of reasons. Most importantly, Mel¡¦s writing seems to have slowed down somewhat since book one, she¡¦s trying to cram less in and the overall book benefits from that. The fact that there is slightly less edge-of-your seat action in this book means that the violence, when it does come, is somehow all the more shocking. I felt that Mel flushed out her characters a lot more in this book and I really began to care for Lorne by the end of the book. All in all, a great second book from a superb new author. º It's on offer at the moment for 70p/99cents but due to go up soon. The third book in the series is due for release in a couple of weeks. Hope you enjoy it. Mel |

My uke book has continued to do very well, so the support of buyers is very much appreciated.
Its a guide book aimed at beginners to playing ukulele or those thinking of starting. It's not a theory book or a book of songs, but rather answers the many questions that new players tend to have, that the normal tutor books dont deal with. If you are thinking of playing the uke, or know someone who has just started, you may find this just the thing! You can sample the book here - http://www.gotaukulele.com/2011/03/c...in-kindle.html even if you dont have a kindle. Its on the Kindle US store http://www.amazon.com/What-Ukulele-P...1858717&sr=1-1 On the UK store - http://www.amazon.co.uk/What-Ukulele...1858710&sr=1-1 And in another bewildering range of formats on Smashwords - http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/37988 |

Shamelessly promoting my book A Blade Away
Thank you for hosting this shameless thread.
![]() Killers and victims on the fringes of society are the focus of the ‘Fringe Killer’ series. “A Blade Away” kicks it off with a murderous transgendered twist. "I am the last true artist.” Jamie Davenport is a struggling young officer on the Louisville Police Force. In her first homicide case, Jamie must track down a twisted killer who preys upon transgendered men to bring about The Change and transform them into their “true selves”. “I am da Vinci with flesh.” However, even with the help of her friend and mentor, Skip Abrahm, she finds herself fighting a war on three fronts: a victimized population reluctant to cooperate, a police force unwilling to take the crimes seriously, and a killer that is always one step ahead. “I am a god with your gender.” Warning: Contains adult situations and material. You can purchase the book at the following locations: Amazon.com Barnes & Noble Smashwords Thank you so much, Jack Wallen |

Another shameless plug? No. More like an accusation!
I DARE YOU to read Chapter One of THE TWENTYFIRSTERS -- my twist-laden, breakneck thriller novel -- and then try to ignore your lingering curiosity over the premise. You can find samples here, here and here. And just what is the premise? Consider: An ex-federal agent scrapes out a living as a hired gun... A disgraced sports hero betrays his legions of fans... A group of industrialists possess abilities costing fortunes... Money and power are no defense from a man with a purpose: justice THE TWENTYFIRSTERS by Kekoa Lake There's no such thing as safety in numbers Welcome to Pryce, Missouri. A city built on financial services and the home of America's superpowered protectors, the Twentyfirsters. Bon Carriker, a mercenary on the run blamed for homicides he did not commit, secretly witnesses one of the superheroes murder a young fan and cover it up. Adopting a masked identity and using his own talents, Carriker sets out to expose the 'hero' and any of his accomplices by infiltrating the Twentyfirsters. His cat-and-mouse game sets a chain of events into motion that places the team on a deadly collision course with enemies unknown. Justice always comes at a cost. Lake puts a crime fiction spin on the superhero myth, resulting in a thriller with action, suspense and a heart. THE TWENTYFIRSTERS is approximately 81,000 words long. My ebook can be found at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords. Thank you for your consideration. I'd be honored to hear your opinions! Sincerely, Kekoa Lake |

Powerful first novel.” Jake Barton “Compelling! A very tough subject handled exceptionally well.” Mel Comley Thanks for looking! Last edited by Dr. Drib; 04-08-2011 at 05:51 AM. |

This is my latest review for Impeding Justice.
4.0 out of 5 stars Grabs you by the throat., 7 April 2011 By Sarah Barnard "Sarah Barnard" (UK) - See all my reviews This review is from: Impeding Justice (A Lorne Simpkins thriller) (Kindle Edition) You might be forgiven for thinking this was a standard police thriller - the evil, but genius, criminal always just one step away from the good guys - Lorne Simpkins and the police. And in a way, on the surface it's exactly that. The Unicorn is nasty, smart and dangerous and Lorne's frustration at his constant escapes drags you along, wanting to know how, or if, she'll get him in the end. Somehow, when you think he might just be dealt with the idea that there's a sequel with the tag line, "He's back." plants the seeds of doubt there. Impeding Justice grabs you on the first page and doesn't let go, not until the final sentence. I hope Final Justice (A Lorne Simpkins thriller) is as good. Still available on offer for 49p/99cents. The sequel is the same price and the third in the series is due out a couple of weeks too. Have a great day. Mel ;-) |
