Playing The Game - Los Angeles thriller $0.99
My debut novel, Playing The Game is available on Amazon.com for $0.99 - a contemporary thriller set in Los Angeles ...
Detective Michael Patton has been targeted by a serial killer named 'The Chemist' as the starting point for each game the killer is playing. He does not know why. Two girls are already dead and a third has just 24 hours to live. For Detective Patton, this is a game he must win. Has had good reviews so far and has been favourably compared to James Patterson! http://www.amazon.com/Playing-The-Ga...0346989&sr=8-2 |

Rubies and Other Gems - the Novel. Women's fiction with a time-travel twist.
With a husband who dismisses her and children who ignore her, it's little wonder that Lily seeks comfort in sleep. But when her dream lover involves a man who lived and died years before she was born, she realizes her marriage may not survive her unintentional infidelity. Transported through time by her grandmother's rubies, Lily is entranced by the simpler nature of times gone by and can't resist going back again, but only after imposing strict rules of conduct on herself. When a miscalculation keeps her away longer than planned, she's confronted by an angry husband on her return. Aware she can't make amends and steer her children in the right direction unless she stays in the here and now, Lily vows to leave the past to the past. But in her attempt to take away the jewelry's power, she inadvertently sends herself back without her return ticket, the rubies. Now, she fears she may not even have a family if and when she returns from the past. Thanks for reading and I hope you'll check it out. Joyce |

THE MARLOWE CONSPIRACY - Historical Thriller
THE MARLOWE CONSPIRACY: A NOVEL 1593, Elizabethan England In a turbulent time of wars, famine, and religious persecution, Christopher Marlowe struggles to balance his life as England’s most popular playwright with his duties as a government spy. Suddenly, when he falls under suspicion of atheism, a capital crime, Marlowe fears his many powerful enemies have launched a conspiracy to have him executed... With only a few days to clear his name, he quickly enlists the aid of a young William Shakespeare – one of the few friends he can still trust. Together, they race through Marlowe’s tangled life of crime, espionage, and noble connections to expose the conspiracy and save him from the hangman’s noose. But will anything save a man as troubled as Marlowe? Included inside this novel is an extensive Author's Note, detailing the historical facts behind the story. Also included is an excerpt of my next novel POISON IN THE BLOOD: The Memoirs of Lucrezia Borgia, an historical thriller about the scandalous Borgia family Last edited by mgscarsbrook; 11-24-2010 at 06:28 PM. |

I would like to introduce my funny adventure book called Bloated Goat. It is available on Kindle and Nook for $.99 each. If you are looking for a book that makes you laugh out loud, well look no further. Check it out...
Bloated Goat on Kindle Bloated Goat on Nook Here are some recent quotes: “I decided to take a chance on your book after reading your post. Heck, it's only ninety-nine cents, right? I called my nine year old daughter over for what I thought would be a short picture book. I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting much but I hoped she'd get a good chuckle out of it. I opened up the book and was surprised to find that it's a chapter book. Hmm! We dove in. We read through the first ten chapters and my daughter never stopped laughing. She loved it! (And I had to stop more than once to compose myself as well. I actually had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard.) So far it's an easy and enjoyable read. The characters are hilarious and the situations they encounter are wholly unexpected. We can't wait to finish it tomorrow.” – M. Jacobs, a Kindle Discussions contributor “LOL. I just finished it. It cracked me up! Definitely worth the dollar.” – Lexi, a Kindle Discussions contributor Thanks for looking and happy reading, Manley Peterson Last edited by Manley Peterson; 11-24-2010 at 10:03 PM. |

Loisaida -- A New York Story -- New Promotional Price .99
Not sure if this was a wise decision or a foolish one, but I've just reduced the price for Loisaida -- A New York Story. It's now only .99 at the Kindle Store and Smashwords. (It's in the premium catalog but it will probably take a couple of weeks for the affiliates to catch up.) I'm hoping this will garner some reviews as well as increased sales.
The book is set in the pre-gentrified East Village/Lower East Side of Manhattan in the 1980's and was inspired by true events. It's a gritty, sometimes violent ride and definitely not chick-lit. It's a story about sex, drugs, murder, and real estate set in the era of greed of some people would kill for cheap rent. To make it easy to find, here are the links: Loisaida on Smashwords Loisaida on Amazon |

Bit disappointed by my US sales so far - only 1 copy. But I think my story should appeal to a lot of American readers. The main character Sahil, is an amalgam of different races born in a Bangladeshi family in the UK - a miracle boy. My aim through the book is something akin to what William Faulkner alluded to in interviews I've read - achieving universality through particularism.
