Where Dreams are Born, a Kindle or print book from a small publisher.
It was supposed to be a win-win situation—a safe environment in which to raise a son for single mom Vicky, housekeeping and childcare for widowed Jack. Neither one wants or expects anything more. Life, however, has more in store than either one imagines. “WHERE DREAMS ARE BORN is a delight to read and I'm looking forward to more books from Joyce DeBacco!” Ann of The Romance Reviews. “Joyce DeBacco does a really good job of getting the reader invested in the outcome of this unusual pairing. Enjoy.” S. Wurman of Night Owl Reviews. “This is truly a compelling novel of real life and will stay with me a long time”. Judith of The Book Binge. “Joyce DeBacco pens one of those tales that is warm and loving while still mixed with trials that will touch a reader's heart.” Dee Dailey of The Romance Studio. “ A well-written romantic novel with elements of suspense. Writing is fresh and evocative, highly readable and interesting.” Corina of Big Al’s Books and Pals. “A stellar read.” Vine reviewer Wendy Hines of Minding Spot. “I would recommend this book to those who like women’s fiction, romance and suspense, and who want to keep it light.” Stephanie Laymon of Five Alarm Reviews. Joyce This is the book that's missing from my lineup below. Don't know how or why it happened, but you can go to my website for links to it. |

The truth behind everything will shatter their world, and nothing will ever be the same again..

Hi guys. my first plunge into this thread. I thought now would be a good time as not only do I have a fairly new book to mention, but there's even some news about it today, that I'd like to pass on, anyway.
My debut novel, Z14 has just reached the Barnes and Noble and Kobo stores, through Smashwords' premium catalogue. (It may be on Apple and Sony, too, but those sites are blocked to me at work). Z14 is the somewhat darkly humorous story about a murderous cyborg who could be an unexpected force for good, when his attempts to uncover more about himself embroil him in a daft, but deadly, alien plot against mankind. Exploding lizards, self-destructing cyborgs and B-Movie style alien machinations abound. It's a fast-paced "romp". I think I'll just link to my thread, here at Mobile Reads. I'd very much appreciate people checking it out. I'm a bit of a feedback nut, and I'd love to hear from you, even if you read the blurb, or check out the sample and think "Yuck!". Here's my forum thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=171297 Cheerio! Jim |

British Zombie Breakout Part One - After the first zombie breakout infected half the country, the authorities should have been more careful. No-one in Kilkorne, a tiny fishing village with a picturesque castle and harbour, expected an attack. Now five teenagers and five adults must attempt to survive a horde of highly infectious, half dead creatures, the army's attempt to burn down the village and a suspected case of haunting (short story 14,500 words). Smashwords 5* review: "This was a fun read! Easy to get into the book! Good job!" Amazon UK 4* review: "really well written.... you are rooting for all the characters but also want to smack a few of them too!! left me wanting to find out what why and how.... hope this is not the end for the great (British) writer... lots more ideas please...." What chance of survival do the fugitives have while zombies are still at large in the English countryside and when a corrupt politician and the Chief Scientist at the Breathdeep Biological Research Facility are intent on their capture, dead or alive? Who will prove to be the more ingenious, the authorities, the fugitives or the zombies? (Short story of 18,500 words in twenty-six chapters) And, with readers demanding even more... British Zombie Breakout – Part Three: Zombies Go Global. The Minister's plots deepen, the virus goes AWOL, and Alex and Steve are on the run again. Hi there, thought I'd tell you about my debut novel, THE CODEX FILE which is free on Amazon over the weekend. Hope you'll take a look
![]() If you're online...you're a target - Explosive conspiracy thriller, THE CODEX FILE, FREE on AMAZON sites for Kindle - 10 and 11 March AMAZON.COM - http://www.amazon.com/The-Codex-file...8999246&sr=1-1 AMAZON.CO.UK - http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Codex-fi...8468274&sr=8-2 The Codex file synopsis: Forget everything you think you know about the internet. If you think nefarious web sites peddling a cocktail of online scams, illegal pornography, racial hatred and vicious computer viruses was all you had to worry about - think again. The government has banned access to the internet and the world wide web, dubbing it an illegal, unregulated zone. Sounds good news doesn't it, until you know that its replacement controls every aspect of your life, from digital content, provision of your gas, water and electricity, and all your money. And with everything and everybody connected, we're all now potential targets if we oppose it. Do you still feel safe? Empowered? Connected? Welcome to the future of the internet. Welcome to the Codex file. Michael Robertson's family has been murdered to protect the covert government project linked to establishing a new UK internet. Piecing together what happened leads him to four computers hackers, vehemently opposed to the new network, who provide the only means to hunt down the killers. But uncovering the truth leads to industrial espionage and a plot that leads right to the heart of government as he seeks the truth behind the Codex file. Serendipity House. Named Best Indie Romance of 2011 at Red Adept Reviews.
Sylvie was a pleaser. She did as her mother pleased, and she did as her fiancé pleased. Then she did as she pleased. Determined to take back her life, she heads to the hills instead of the altar on her wedding day. Coming across a quaint, country inn with an intriguing name, she impulsively checks in. Peopled with an odd assortment of characters, the inn has clearly seen better days; even the regulars have a bit of wear on them. When Alex arrives and is strangely comfortable vacationing among the geriatric set, Sylvie is wary and tries to ignore him. But Alex will not be ignored, pushing her buttons until she admits, if only to herself, that she’s falling for him. Not until she's hired to manage the inn does she learn he's not the businessman he pretends to be, but a streetwise PI hired by her ex to find her. Adding insult to injury, he buys the inn and asks her to help restore it to its former glory. “At heart, this was a romance, yet the story never descends into the sappy dialogue and thought processes of a swooning nymphette.” Lynn of Red Adept Reviews gave it 5 stars and named it Best Indie Romance of 2011. Serendipity House is still available for half-price at Smashwords for today only. Other books also discounted. Code REW50. |

Think how great virtual sex must be. Now think again.
A VIRTUAL AFFAIR is about Barbara, a computer program developed to make men happy through sex. Though a series of coincidences, she becomes conscious and self-aware, and discovers--surprise--that sex isn't the same as happiness. Then she learns that nagging people to exercise and eat right doesn't make them happy either. The rest of the book shows her machinations, some quite complicated, to make individuals and groups of people happy. But what if she malfunctions like HAL in 2001? And in any event, she's a computer; what can she know about human happiness? -------------------- Short Bio: I'm a physician who has been writing off and on literally for decades with little success. After an unrelenting series of rejections almost had me ready to give up, Lilly Press accepted my novel IMPLAC, an evil robot story. I was ecstatic. Then, Lilly went bankrupt and it was back to the slush pile for me. The Query Tracker website taught me how to write a decent query, I sent out a batch of letters to small publishers, and Eternal Press accepted A VIRTUAL AFFAIR. At age 68 I would finally have a book for sale. It's never too late to pursue your dream. http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B004VY7I1A http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/zvi-zaks?keyword=zvi+zaks&store=allproducts |

Happiness (How To Be Happy)
The title is self-explanatory. I won't go into a long-winded description about this Kindle book, so as not to make you unhappy. Buy a little piece of happiness for 99 cents.

I just received a new review this morning on Amazon, 3 stars, which is my second review, the other was 4. The reviewer took issue with the characters stockpiling weapons and food, but enjoyed the novel overall.
"I consider myself a born again Christian and I enjoyed certain parts of the book very much. Brian praying and carefully making choices and choosing to let his child live against the laws of the country was admirable. I don't agree with stockpiling weapons to fight people who are desperate for money and supplies. I believe as Christians we are to share our resources that God has so bountifully supplied to us with others who need them to show our reliance on God's giving. This in turn may bless others. Even though I had some difficulty with some of the actions I overall enjoyed the book. Thank you for such a thought provoking read!" http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0075CNFFI Personally, I know a few Christians who would stockpile food and weapons, but I can see how some people would disagree. I'm just thankful for another review that's positive. In other news, I released a press release about the book the other day, which mentions the TSA being in the novel, and I had a visit from the US DOJ to my website this morning. Dun, dun, dun! |
