I tried using my Max2 as a monitor for a headless raspberry pi 3 (command line mode). A normal HDMI-capable monitor has no problems, while the Max2 shows a black screen with no text on it.
On a Windows 10 machine I have problems with the quality of the picture: text is not readable. Even if the secondary monitor is set to use large fonts, a pdf shared to the Max2 is of much worse quality in comparison to what it would like if opened directly on the reader. Does the monitor app put a reader in A2 mode? |

Just as feedback:
Have used the device more and more, and the note taking app will be great once either the lower right buttons are moved or the capacitative screen can be turned off.. |

However, I have an issue and it would help me immensely if you could tell me if it's the same in your setup: when I change stuff in the Storage app on the Max 2, such as creatg a new folder, it doesn't show up in the Android File Transfer application unless I reboot the Max 2. Do you see the same phenomenon? FWIF, changes in Android File Transfer show up immediately on the Max 2. Thanks! |

I feel strongly about recommending that you skim through the past threads (t=272001 , page=21 , highlight=monitor+max2+A2).
One day we will create a wiki page, which will probably be hefty. For now, information is everywhere. Last edited by mdp; 02-02-2018 at 05:13 AM. |

Any ideas, which alternative pen we can buy for the MAX2? I hate the one supplied, too thin, and easy to loose from its holder.
I didnt receive any blocker or something, to the pen falls from the reader. Thank you |

After a discussion with Apple representatives and trying to solve the problem together, they concluded there must be a driver compatibility issue between Max2 and iMacs. Different Apple devices including different Macs computers have different OSs. There is the possibility that Onyx did test the drivers only for few Apple computer types, letting others aside like the desktop iMac and possible some laptop models. Therefore today I wrote Onyx about it and as soon as I get word from them, I will write you. As for the the Android File Transfer app, my experience was different. Yesterday, after installing the app, I did get some error messages when trying to create a new folder on Max2 or when copy pasting pdf documents. However, there wasn't necessary to reboot the e-reader. The second attempt to do the said operations worked well. Today I did try again to make folders and move documents on Max2 via the Android app and got no more errors. It went normally. |

Max2 uses wacom EMR pen.
There is many stories between new AES and old EMR, you can google it. I feel EMR is better. I have two old pen, it is OK. 1 Wacom Bamboo stylus feel CS300UW (maybe out of stock) 2 Fujitsu LB-PN4 (FMWMC06086) Lenovo Yoga tablet and Samsung Galaxy also use EMR. Each tablet and pen have their own settings for EMR, I can not say which one is better. |

I use only Linux and I don't use the Wifi at home. At my work, I can use Linux but not the Wifi. Can you share your experience with the Max2 with only Linux and a USB connexion : installation of softs, update, etc. ? Thanks in advance. |

e.g.: `adb shell`; `adb install -r Librera\ Beta-7.5.44-c476-arm+arm64.apk` EDIT: I also use only Linux and nothing is missed, with the possible exception of reflashing firmwares with special Win-only tools released by the motherboards producers, like the "MFG tools". Well, that may be useful to you in case you will be using Android devices.
One detail that may not have been clear: I connect the device to the desktop through a USB cable and manage through ADB commands. Yes (not considering exceptions), and you may not even need ADB for that matter. In clearer terms: you will have certainly understood I install through `adb`, but I am pretty sure that "tap on icon" suffices. |

I found another issue:
Using the Max 2, I highlighted text and formulas in a PDF (link, 12MB), as well as scribbled on it. When I try to export all the notes (checkmark on "scribbles"), NeoReader crashes. When I remove the scribbles checkmark, I get the message that the export succeeded, but when I open the resulting <name>-Export.pdf file on the Max 2, or in another PDF reader (I've tried two) there are no highlights in the PDF. So right now, I can only see my highlights on the device itself, when I open the original file, and only using NeoReader. I cannot get them out of Max 2's NeoReader. Is there a workaround to get my hands on the PDF with annotations? Help! Last edited by hmr; 02-04-2018 at 05:42 AM. Reason: Clarity, wording |

On the Max, a screenshot is triggered by simultaneously pressing both the page forward and page backward buttons. Not sure if it is the same on the Max2. |
