Hi All,

I have just jailbreak my new kindle paperwhite 3 black wifi but for some reason when i put the file [Update_python_0.14.N_install_pw2_kt2_kv_pw3_koa_kt 3.bin] the 'update your kindle' is greyed out.

I've tried the snapshot version but again no luck.

please advise,

I should also say, I jailbreak using the snapshot version of main-htmlviewer.tar.gz

Normal behavor for newer firmware versions. Use MRPI to install update packages. You can find a link to MRPI in the jailbreak index sticky tread, "essential hacks" section.

Did you also install the 'hotfix' package?
If not, do so now.

Quoting from the README.txt in the screensavers hack:

"Do you want to use the cover of the last book opened as a screensaver? Make sure you've installed the Python package first, then just drop a blank file named *cover* in the linkss folder. Restart your Kindle (*[HOME] -> [MENU] > Settings -> [MENU] > Restart*; or simply use the *Screen Savers* > *Restart framework now* button in KUAL), and you're done ."

I do not have a KOA, but previously to initiate the cover mode without KUAL you would place an empty file with no extension named 'cover' into the linkss folder on your kindle and then do a 'restart' of your kindle..... read the instructions for installation in the first post closely again for the specifics. Good Luck!

I've just installed this on my new Kindle Voyage and it works fine in Cover Mode except for one book (11.22.63 bought from Kindle Store).
Tried resetting cache etc (in this case it stays on the "hack has still to process a cover" screen), restart etc but no luck.

If I switch to another book the cover is properly shown (both added from Calibre or bought from the Store) and is kept when reading 11.22.63 (I mean, I have the cover from the other book).

Is this a known issue?

What is the format of the book?
If unknown, what is the filename extension?

The file is a KFX.
I will check about the snapshot, probably I'm using the release version! :O

Pushed new snapshots, which should fix the issue reported by @DaRk_ViVi (the issue being stupidity happening with KFX files containing dots in their names ^^).

I also potentially fixed a long-standing stupid mistake when handling the covers of ASIN-less files.
