Scifi-romance

Hi! I have a suggestion...Have you read the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher? I am on number 7 in a series of 10 or 11. They mix scifi with fantasy and some romance.

Another idea

I have also read the Mary Janice Davidson Undead vampire series. You mentioned that you do not like weak female characters, well this vampire is great! She is modern, has a shoe fettish, is Queen of the vampires and has a juicy roamnce with another vampire. The books are funny and a lot of fun!

I'll give a 2nd for Jim Butcher's Dresden Series..

Also I'd highly recommend his Codex Alera series as well.. I truly like his stuff; the Codex Alera have a bit more romance in them. The female characters are not weak!

I'll third the Dresden Files. They're so addicting!

She's also a self-centered, brainless twit -- which just makes the stories more amusing!

Do they have an underlying romance aspect? I have seen a few of the TV shows, and I didn't get the impression.

Yeah, there's an ongoing relationship with a certain character, which I won't name, so there are no spoilers

Thanks. These books are certainly on my "long list". As are several thousand books.

A book you can find right here for free

The Night Land is right here on the Mobileread site ebooks listings and its free to download. It's a great love story. I should warn you though that it is written in a deliberately archaic style. The female character does display a certain amount of strength at points in the story, but is ultimately a damsel in distress.

How about I challenge you to read the first book in the next two weeks? You, in turn, can challenge me to something

Good way to tackle something on the TBR list I think.

You can challenge me, but not sure it will happen. I am in the beginnings of Neptune's Crossing right now (which turned out to be the MRBC april book). It usually takes me about a week or so a to read a book, based on my reading "room" time.

I am guessing given how the book seems good so far that I will want to continue on and read the next 4 books in the series. So, that pretty much will keep my busy for the month.

Well either you accept the challenge or you don't I could extend the time period.

I can accept the challenge. But, I'm not sure if I can meet the challenge.

But you shouldn't accept the challenge if you think you can't meet it, silly.
