Does this jailbreak interfere with Goodreads syncing, or have I broken something in a separate way?

Essentially, before installing the jailbreak, on my 2019 Paperwhite, I was able to share > goodreads and it would update my reading progress percentage. I've installed the jailbreak, MRPI, KUAL and screensavers and now I get an error when trying to share.

I unlinked the account and re-linked it, in case it was a password error, but that hasn't helped. When I try to launch Goodreads from the kindle menu, it takes me to a "choose your favourite genre" screen, that doesn't ever populate, so I can't progress.
I *am* however able to "view this book on goodreads" sucessfully, and I'm fully logged in there, so it's not a network problem.

To finalize JB, you still need to use "Update_HOTFIX_PATCH", which finalizes JB and returns you to normal mode.

Just copy HOTFIX to the root directory and enter "update" in KINDLE

Sorry, I did not make clear. The jailbreak did not happen. It failed. There is nothing to finalize.

I am sorry if this is not the right thread to ask this, but can anyone confirm if LibrarianSync works in 5.14.2? After installing KUAL, the kindle blurs out the option of Creating Collections. As an alternative, I tried installing LibrarianSync extension along with Python. But when I update collections (made through Calibre), it shows 'rebuilding collections' for eternity, and no collection is built.

I don't have a solution but I also have this issue on my KOA3. I wonder what exactly causes it. If I open Goodreads while my Kindle is not connected to wifi, it tries to load the homepage and if I reconnect then, it loads properly, so it's at least a bit usable.

Do not be dumb as I was and do not activate the "display cover" option if you are on >= 5.13.6 AND are using the screensaver hack. This will mess your system up

I understand, but this PATH should, among other things, end (leave / deactivate) the DEMO mode.
I mean, after applying that PATCH and applying this update, KINDLE will restart to the user account.

The device does not reboot when I go to the Get Started section...

If I force restart it and add the update afterwards, I'm getting update error 007.

I'm just going through this process now. Jailbreak worked great, so thanks for all of the work that went into making this happen to everyone who contributed.

This is my first jailbroken Kindle and I had a question about KUAL. I'm following the instructions (installing MRPI first then putting the Update_KUALBooklet_v*_install.bin file in the mrpackages folder as described in post #148). When I download the KUAL package (I'm assuming that's where this Update.bin file is located), windows is flagging it as a virus. I can't find any mention of this anywhere so I'm guessing this is not normal.

I just did it on the Oasis 10th gen AFTER they rolled back the firmware. I can confirm that it works. Just follow the steps and use the KOA3 folder.

I tried installing that KUAL version and ignored the windows virus error. That version wasn't installing and later in this thread I saw someone mention you need coplates version and that worked! I now have KUAL and KOReader installed and working!

1) Extract mrpackages and extension folders from kual-mrinstaller-1.7.N-r18896.tar.xz to your Kindle’s root folder.
2) Extract Update_KUALBooklet_e3deabf_install.bin file from KUAL-e3deabf-20220213.tar.xz (coplate version of KUAL) to mrpackages folder which is in your Kindle’s root folder.
3) Eject you Kindle and open the search on it and type ;log mrpi (installs KUAL and MRInstaller).

renametobin
Prevents OTA updates from Amazon so you can make sure your Kindle doesn’t update which could blow away your jailbreak.
1) Extract renametobin folder from renameotabin.zip to the extensions folder of your Kindle.
2) Eject your Kindle and launch KUAL on it.
3) Tap “Rename OTA Binaries”, then tap “Rename” (Only tap “Restore” when you want to re-enable OTA updates or if you want manually update firmware via "Update Your Kindle" from Settings menu on Kindle)

KOReader
1) Extract extensions and koreader folders from koreader-kindlepw2-v2022.03.1.zip to Kindle’s root folder.
2) Eject your Kindle and launch KUAL on it.
3) Tap “KOReader” then tap “Start KOReader”.
4) Wait ~10 seconds for KORreader to open.

Thank you katadelos for the jailbreak, and thanks spacequince for the post-JB summary. It worked like a charm on my PW3 (after having skipped steps 3-8 - I was able to just start the demo mode, and after getting the Application error).

By the way I wasn't able to quickly find this information, but on 5.14.2 (cannot comment on any other FW) on a Wifi+3G model, it is not possible to skip the registration screen. Just restarting the Kindle did the trick though and I could continue without registering.
