Problem: Kindle Scribe on 5.16.2 failed to install KUAL.

When I copied both
Update_jailbreak_hotfix_1.16.N_install.bin and
(coplate) Update_KUALBooklet_d0eb25b_install.bin
into kindle , and run the ;log mrpi，it appeared error like “failed to remount rootfs ro” and some files with name KPPMainAppV2 were created in documents. And there was no KUAL in library.

The version of MR Installer I used was kual-mrinstaller-1.7.N-r19293.

Would someone give me some advice? Thanks in advance.

The issue is with MRPI : It's checking the version. There's another that does not do that. Go back to the previous comments (start from the #90s going up), a zip file called "extension.zip" is shared. It's the one i used to solve this problem

Question: is this update_hotfix_languagebreak-{language you want to end up with}.bin a replacement of Niluje's JB_hotfix that one has to install after that old jb method, or do I have to apply both?

I agree that the issue is with MRPI.

its nilujes hotfix with an extract cleanup script

remount rootfs ro error shouldnt stop you from doing anything, from my testing my kindle on 5.16.2.1.1 wont remount the rootfs ReadOnly even if i beg it on my knees

For some reason i'm still getting the same error even if the most recent nightly. Could it be because i'm using the "kindlepw2" version?

Is there any reason to update to a later version such as 5.16.2.1 if you are on 5.15.1 and the jailbreak is working? (E.g bug fixes/battery life/stability)

Thanks very much for your response.

I have tried many times using latest MRPI(r19293) and (coplate) KUAL, but failed to install KUAL, with the error "failed to remount rootfs ro" showing every time.

Would you please read the mrinstaller log shown below, and help me figure out what's wrong with MRPI?

Any help is sincerely appreciated.

When I copied both Update_jailbreak_hotfix_1.16.N_install.bin and (coplate) Update_KUALBooklet_d0eb25b_install.bin into kindle , and run the ;log mrpi，it appeared error like “failed to remount rootfs ro” and some files with name KPPMainAppV2 were created in documents. And there was no KUAL in library. The version of MR Installer I used was kual-mrinstaller-1.7.N-r19293. Would someone give me some advice? Thanks in advance.

(E.g bug fixes/battery life/stability)
