Reinstalled the JB fix (update_hotfix_languagebreak-en-US.bin) through UYK menu, installed fine, on subsequent boots it shows the **** JAILBREAK**** note on boot.
I updated both MRPI and KUAL with most recent versions (released few hours ago, downloaded from the Snapshots thread), I also updated the installed KOReader to latest nightly from https://build.koreader.rocks/downloa...65_2023-10-31/ - the kindlepw2 version
KUAL can be started but clicking any of the extensions installed (KOReader and Helpers in the menu) only results in return to book list.

(so, to reiterate, PW5 16 GB version, yes, **** JAILBREAK **** shows up on boot, yes, latest KOReader nightly, kindlepw2 version, sadly it's on FW 5.16.3.1 due to me being careless with Airplane mode)

How do I get it to run?
I've added it to KUAL extension, shows up in the launcher, but whenever I click my Kindle model, it doesn't restart, just prints 'Exception logged' in lower left corner of the screen.
I could use the ;log runme workaround, since that seems to still work on the firmware, but how can I pass the Kindle version to the script?

Thank you so much!!! My KWP4 have been stuck in 5.14.3.2 for almost ONE YEAR, now I can out!!! I am trying the way on github called "one-click". Whether successful or not, I will post feedback.

If the ****jailbreak**** message does not appear at startup, it means that my jailbreak did not survive the update or I did something wrong, correct?
the commands ;log mrpi and ;log runme not working
I don't know if there's still anything I can do to fix it.
I tried to install the hotfix but the update error appears and the Kindle restarts

I also had the same problem, except that your kual would still open (although it wouldn't run KOReader), while mine wouldn't. I tried again today with the latest versions of Snapshots, but the same problem. The only solution was also to downgrade using ;log runme.

I don't know if the seventh step failed because the backend was downloading books. I will try the method in the post instead of Github.

In steps 14 and 15, when I connected the Kindle to the computer at that time, it only had a drive letter, but I couldn't copy files.Unfortunately.

I had great success with a KT4 (G090VB, shows as Kindle 10th Generation) on firmware 5.14.3.2

Things of note:
1. "Chinese" was the last language on the options after reset, there was no 'psuedodot" language on this version of the firmware.

2. When it rebooted after the jailbreak, it appeared to be out of demo, and allowed changing the language. I was able to install the hotfix after rebooting from the language change.

3. Going through in Chinese is tricky. Maybe the Jailbreak script could switch back to English?

4. The window to mount the drive and copy the files seems fairly short and it doesn't change the screen

5. the instructions should clarify that this involves a factory reset, and will wipe everything from userstore

After jailbreak I create a update.bin.tmp.partial and renamed ota binaries to prevent ota updates but however kindle still update to 5.16.3. Now I can't open KUAL and have no access to ;log commands. What should I do now? Is there a hotfix?

the same thing happened to me, amazon sneakily updated my kindle.
I hope there is a solution soon, is there any way to know if the jailbreak survived after the firmware update?

This may be a stupid question, but did you simply install the renameotabinaries KUAL extension and forget to actually run it? Just installing it does NOT make any changes, you have to invoke it from the KUAL menu.

Ofc I enabled it and thats why I keep the WiFi connected.

Now, I'm not able to run any ;log commands anymore.

Since there is no KUAL menu, I cannot downgrade it either.

Turning off my wifi for now - hopefully there will be a fix for this

When I restart the device, it shows **** BRIDGE+ **** on the screen.
