Serve over pasta with some fresh grated parmesan, maybe a slice of garlic toast, and a nice glass of wine.
Yes!

There is no real need for oil or butter, as the juice of the tomatoes makes the pasta slippery by itself. Of course with the fat it becomes even better. Spaghetti is the best for it. Speed is the secret. In putting it up, at least. But also in eating it. Very tasty.

My trick is to mix the spaghetti with the tomatoes, put them in the plates and add the cubes of cheese on top, after. So they do not melt too much and the pasta remains warmer. In some places they mix the tomatoes and the pasta in a pan over the fire. I think it is a cheap trick. I like mine better.

Why tearing the basil? If you cut it with a knife it darkens and looses some.
Yes! Yes!

It's a very colorful time of year, produce-wise, here in Georgia. This is what I got in my quarter-share CSA box today. (The best thing was the least colorful, though -- figs! I can't stop eating them.)

No recipes here, I just mostly roast my vegetables in the oven. Today I roasted corn, squash, eggplant, peppers, and onions.

That looks really, really good! I'm jealous... of both all the veggies and of all that counter space!

That looks great Roasted vegtables are really nice. That's why I like my Tefal Actifry so much. Easy to clean and everything get roasted very evenly without needing much attention. And it's just perfect for bacon as well

Ooooh, counter-space! ::swooooon::
My kitchen is approx 9x9 feet (1.8x1.9 m as far as I recall), so I've learned to juggle while I work.

Count your blessings...
I have less than 16"x 12" of work space on my counter, between the sink and the stove top. There is just enough floor room for one person to pass behind the other while one is working at the counter... if you are really good friends...

Japanese kitchens can be 'small.' This is exactly the size of our kitchen, except where the 'red' is, is a wall, so there is just the narrow space between the wall and the work area. The work area is exactly the same although our cooker is tall due to a broiler beneath the hobs. Japanese friends think we have a rather large kitchen...

Too right! I have a special rack that I can put across the top of my sink to give me another 'space' to hold a mixing bowl!

OK... that must explain why a simple plate of Insalata Caprese at "Le vecchie Mura" in San Gimignano tasted delicious, and why we were never able to have something similar with buffalo mozarello bought in Belgium...

(So glad... within less than two weeks we're in Italy again... Veneto this year.)

Of course, but I haven't seen any Belgians yet who really participate in the Lounge (which is where I spent most of my time ) or become regular posters. So please stick around!
