Ha, I figured out a trick that gets rid of the ghosting. Before putting it to sleep, I go back one page, then forward to the original page and immediately hit the power button. It seems the image isn't on the screen long enough to show up on the screensaver. Leaving the page on for even 1-2 seconds results in ghosting, so you have turn it off real fast.
I love low-tech hacks. |

Thanks for the hack.
Is there any way to modify it to display images from Google Photos? I.e. download 10 new photos from Google Photos once per month and then use them as a screensaver? |

No, but someone may have come up with live screensaver downloads at one point. I wouldn't know, my Kindle barely ever saw WiFi.

The actual text displayed at the bottom of the screensaver is by default prepended by a hardcoded "If found, please contact: " string, but if you put your own string in a file named pinfo_header in the linkss folder, then the content of that file will be used instead. Note that in both cases, the gist of the info will still come from the Kindle's proper personal info settings.
I have been looking for the pinfo_header in the linkss folder, but I couldn't find any. Where is the actual file is? |

That's a Special Offers device. You'll have to disable that (by paying the $20 fee) on your Manage My Kindle (or whatever its name is these days) page over on your Amazon account.

I'm having issues installing Python 2.7 on my jailbroken PW4 v5.13.3. I've also tried and failed installing it on v5.10.3. It always stops at 39% with error return code 1. It always fails at the following lines in the MRInstaller logs.
PHP Code:

@crystalskull: Ah, a Python 3 port sneaked into one of the 3rd party modules, I'll fix it in the next snapshots

Hi,
Maybe it's already answered in the thread, but I can't find it with the search function. (when I search, I can't click on links to go to the post, I just see previews?) I have a PW4, which is jailbroken en the screensaver package is successfully installed. But the screensaver doesn't display in fullscreen. I see the image correctly and I can also add my own images (758x1024, 256C 8 BPP, Greyscale), but they don't take up the entire screen. When I switch to "cover mode" it does use the entire screen. But "Image cycle" doesn't. Any hints? Do I need to provide more info? Thanks in advance! |

That's not the screen resolution of a PW4, so, no mystery there
![]() (That'd be 1072x1448, IIRC). |
