slippy
Afaik 300-s are as unbrickable as 505 (means, one should really try hard to brick 'em). According to boroda's (aka porkupan) manual, in case of recovery firmware, only 505's updater is available, here is a link: http://projects.mobileread.com/reade...0%20Update.zip it brings device (300) back into state from where you can try to reflash it again with proper prs 300 firmware using one of the boroda's packages. |

Don't suppose anybody can tell me how to restore the original firmware for the PRS-300 after installing the amutin one?
Used the link above, but I now have audio and now playing menus in my home screen, the home button doesn't work, and up/down on the dial cannot be used for paging. [Update] Fully charged last night. Turned it off (standby), was like this in the morning: ![]() I'm assuming something about the 505 firmware is letting it drain. Last edited by Billiam; 06-19-2010 at 04:31 PM. Reason: Added pic |

Can we still re-Russify an already Russified Reader? And what does "customization support EPUB" mean?

There is a special "rusification" by bigit (at least on 505) that messes with the partitions on low level, which requires first restoring with Sony's installer, but I guess it's not your case. Custom firmware by porkupan (aka boroda) and amutin doesn't do it. |

Hi folks!
I did the Boroda hack as per RonF's instructions many months ago and it worked great. I too forgot to backup the original firmware. My bad! I was wondering if it's possible to reverse the hack and if so how would I do that? I'm jonesing for the new 350 and if I go to sell my 300 I'd like it to be in it's original state. I'm pretty sure it was the Boroda that I used because I have the clock and the Russian. I didn't do anything with the fonts. Any advice please & thank you! PS - I love having the clock and advance button features but am concerned that if I sell it on ebay someone will say it's not original and file a claim against me bla bla bla....and I just don't want to deal with that crap. |
