Sorry for the long wait - I actually spend most time on cleaning up the code in the first instance
Check it out and let me know if you encounter any bugs or have further great ideas...

PS. I'm looking into OneNote to Edge conversion, but OneNote stores most strokes in a binary format that needs a bit more interpretation - so be patient...

Nice job. Thanks. If I don't have win7 tablet, this application will be the "MUST" have program.

Thanks for your work LutzS. I have been waiting for over 1.5 years for a company to release this very necesssary ability and like you been disappointed by Sony and so many others. The Asus 121 hasn't been released in Australia yet and is still not available on Amazon. On the strenght of LutzS's hard work and creativity I have bought a Pocket Edge after discarding many other e devices which promised editable files but delived only useless image/snapshots: they were toys not working units.

Come on EE PTY LTD - show some recognition here- where's the consultancy offer to LutzS!

Interesting idea: I wonder how easy it would be to extract the journals that you make it in the calendar app. And perhaps put it in a onenote calendar like for instance: http://www.einsteintech.net/apps/Dis...neNoteCalendar Ideally it we had them in sync it would make the calendar a lot more useful

Hi Lutz,

cool work! I think I've read that you're using the Pocket eDGe. When I tried to import journals made by the larger eDGe to OneNote, they are too large within OneNote. When I zoom out them to 10%, it's still too large. Exporting such a note to PDF results into a PDF file with hundreds of pages...
See the screenshot of an imported eDGe journal to OneNote (onenote.png) for illustration please.

Is there a way to rescale the notes to A4 or letter format maybe?

Hi szegan,
yes, I use a Pocket Edge indeed and I was aware that this would cause problems for the Edge users. I'm currently preparing a major update for the program, which will include custom zoom etc. - still sorting out some last bugs, so be patient

PS all the best wishes for our readers from Japan - keep safe

Version0.5 available

I finally had some time to get a new release done - in fact I skipped v0.4 as it was too buggy :S

Anyway, tons of new features (even though probably not the ones you're looking for):
  • Partnerships: you can now define the relationship between an Edge Journal and OneNote section, so that they will synchronise on mouse click
  • Status view: EdgeSync will detect when your Edge Journal has been updated since the last synchronisation
  • Edge detection: just connect your Edge and start EdgeSync or vice versa and you are ready to go
  • Different conversion modes: I now read the tabs and use them depending on the destination "type" (i.e. OneNote notebook, section or page)
  • More control: you now can define how to interpret color, width, zoom and placement of the converted text
  • Update check: just a gimmick

So what's lacking:
  • Still no conversion from OneNote back to Edge Journal
  • Still no automatic handwriting conversion
  • And it's also a bit slow for large journals directly from the Edge (be patient, even if it seems to have crashed)

Some word of warning I feel compelled to: EdgeSync will delete part of the destination in order to not have multiple instances of the same drawing, so be careful not to place your own text onto pages that EdgeSync may overwrite. Don't worry, it will not affect any of your other OneNote pages, but I don't want you to accidentally lose any data.

More details in the documentation (which, however, I'm still building up):
EdgeSync Documentation

One more thing: in CodePlex you can also suggest and vote for features and issues - I've already added some on basis of this forum, but feel free to add further (no promises, though): Issue Tracker

Have fun

Love the changes! It is very useful that now we can have sync the edge directly Thanks a lot

I just have one question. When I plugged in the edge I'm getting all the journal file names which as you know are all meaningless. Would it be possible to show the name of the journal that shows up in the library.

Looking at your screenshot I'm surprise that your list of journal doesn't seem to follow the edge's file name convention. Is there some sort of option?

Ah, thanks for the reminder:
The Edge stores the journals the way you see them listed - the actual names are stored in one of the databases, but I haven't found the right one yet, so unfortunately, it is the filenames you see right away. Once I find the db, I'll upload an update.
To compensate the problem for now, you can give "speaking names" to partnerships (that's the names you see in my picture) by right-clicking on a paired Edge file and selecting "rename" - this does not affect the file name, only the "virtual name".

PS I added a quick entry into the documentation here: http://edgesync.codeplex.com/wikipag...ynchronisation

Love how you handling the tab names in onenote. Great job!

I noticed that the program crashes if there are empty pages in a journal. Eliminating the empty page makes it work again.

Also it would be useful if we could sort the journals by date or size. That way it would be easier to find specific journals. Specially without meaningful names ...

Very true indeed, and easily rectified (v0.5.1): http://edgesync.codeplex.com/
Probably needs some work to make it look nices, but it does its job

Hmmm: it should not do that, can you give me more details?
