Depends. Are you wearing the wrong trousers?

<pause>

Do you ever feel that you've just open a box labelled "Pandora, Property of" whilst wheeling a wooden horse through the gates of Troy as a metal, cylindrical container of worms is opened.

Wikipedia. I said Wikipedia. K. K. K!!!. Not L. Sheesh. You guys have seriously deranged minds.

<looks up at the camera with startled expression. Taps papers on desk in a flustered fashion.>
Welcome back.
This is MR-TV's rolling news program, and I am Tired.
Today's top stories.
The rabbit crisis appears to continue unabated, and the recent attempts by local inventor Wallace have appeared to have failed. Although he remains confident that "a few minor adjustments will have it sorted", the authorities are not so confident. In an announcement today, Govenor Fudd said that it is vitally important that a proper strategy is developed to deal with these, and I quote "wascally wabbit thweat". He announced that he is asking all citizen to take every step possible to combat this threat. He will be unveiling the new Commissioner for Furry Animal Containment at a press conference later today; we will cover this event live and will ask irrelevant and pointless questions such as "Is this New Bunny Army a threat to the nation's security?".

In other news…

<several items of paper are pushed onto the desk>

In breaking news, the winners of the Oscars hav…

<another piece of paper is pushed on the desk, and he looks back to camera>
My apologies for that.

In breaking news, the winners of the Zeldas have just been announced. Triumphant in the prestigious category of ….
<pause. eyes widen. looks down at desk, touches ear and starts whispering.>
Look, you can't expect me to read this. This is a joke, and a very, very bad one at that. I'm a serious newsreader, not a….
I don't care about what my contract says, this is a …. Yes, I know the sponsorship. Oh. The Company of the Green are …. I thought they were mythical. Well, yes, … I suppose. Look, I'm not happy with this….. Okay, but… I'll have words with my agent after this.
<coughs and looks up>

In breaking news, the winners of the Zeldas have just been announced. Triumphant in the prestigious category of best chest attachment wearing robot was Taylor514ce. DixieGal won a narrow victory against very stiff opposition in the most plot important mis-pressing of a button category. With relatively little competition, pshrynk won the most accurate portray of a paranoid panda meglomanic, and finally the largely expected and very popular winner of the cat on a hot tin torture tray went to desertgrandma.
Also announced was the award of life-time achievement award for services to Parisienne Eateries was made to Zelda_pinwheel.

<pause. eyes widen. looks down at desk, touches ear and starts whispering.>
Whatday mean videos of the acceptance speeches? And of the runners-up as well??! You cannot be serious. What are you upto in the gallery. Who's running this? Look, this is a serious news channel dealing in weight issues of national and international import. No it is not a good idea. Think of the viewing figures. For that matter think of their egos and the frocks they'll be wearing. No. We cannot inflict this on our viewers. Look I don't care. I'm not doing this; I'm not going to be a party to this… this.. . this mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham.

<unclips microphone and removes earpiece and slams them down on the table. Storms off, stage right, in extreme strop.>

<just audible>
Roll vt… ROLL VT. NOW!!!

My diet is positively awful. Lots of chocolate, and jelly belly fruit crunchies, ice cream (love ice cream ... especially chocolate and chocolate chip), cheese, soda pop, lemonade (especially pink and raspberry), Campbell's soups, popcorn, macaroni and cheese, tortilla chips and cheese, cheesecake, brownies (with nuts), and whatever the neighbors can be induced to feed me.

I know .... somewhere my poor mother's urn is just spinning in its niche.

What? They're not all deep-fried? Then the diet must be healthy.

What, no peanut butter and crackers? I don't know how I'd survive without the jar of PB and box of crackers I keep in my drawer at work.

And tea, of course. Must have tea.

I do keep peanut butter around the house .... but it's really for the doggies. They LOVE it. I like it very much ... but not as much as they do. They go craxy for it.

Glad to see you are back, nekochan. We were getting worried.

A friend was looking after a group of Californians on an exchange trip to the University I was at. He'd been asked to arrange a trip for some "typical british food", and he'd chosen a well-know fish and chip emporium. He'd mentioned this to his girlfriend (now wife) who grew up in California, who promptly looked shocked. It seems that many Californias can suffer severe, and sometimes fatal, cholesterol poisioning when presented with this particular British delicacy. I've never been completely able to decide if this is a joke.

Au contraire!!! The Princess of Wales Pub (which is on India St. in San Diego) makes WONDERFUL fish and chips. We used to go there for a pint on Fridays after work ... and even play some darts.

I haven't found a good pub here in Central Texas yet .... still looking.
