This can be done with a script, and the script can be configured to only do this once per LIT ebook. For example: if subdirectory .ebook does not exist, explode ebook.lit to a new subdirectory .ebook, and then (either way) open FBReader on .ebook/*.oeb.

This approach was used successfully on the iLiad, see Convert Lit compiled for the iLiad. If Onyx were to do this, they would have to disable the "downconvert" (DRM circumvention) capability of ConvertLIT. If this was implemented by an anonymous individual it could in principle include downconvert and so handle DRMed LITs. There are some LIT ebooks that ConvertLIT does not work with (Calibre is better), but in those cases an off-line conversion to ePub via Calibre is always an option.
Thanks, wallcraft, for the useful guidlines. I tried Calibre and it worked well for me. But it would be nice if Boox could work with LIT directly.

Cool chess app for Boox :

http://p4wn.sourceforge.net/download...cy_version.zip - just download it, unpack to your SD card and open index.html on your device. I tried on my Boox 60 and it works fine!

Thanks, Magnesus! (http://booxusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=18&start=20)

I'm interested in getting an Onyx, however I'm in Canada and having it shipped to me from the States will make it much more expensive with the shipping and customs fees. I am however going on a trip to Shanghai in late April, and am wondering if the Onyx can be easily found there? Would you know anything about that MikeOnyx? Oh and what would be the Chinese name for it? And would I find it in a major electronics store? Thanks.

Hi I would check for you. However, remember the price is 2980RMB in China(436.3USD). Please check your custom fees and shipping from the United States is about $25. Make sure it is worth it.

Also prices in Hong Kong are a little cheaper, I believe, if you are, by any chance, headed that way.

Wow why is the price so steep in China? Isn't it a Chinese product and manufactured there? Oh well, I'll look around for it (and other Chinese readers) just for the fun of it. Who knows what'll happen And unfortunately I will not be going to Hong Kong.

I'm in Canada and I just ordered a Boox on Monday while it was still $299 (they are now $339). I should receive it before you go on your trip. Then I can tell you how much the customs charges were. Hopefully not too much.

Great, vendors often do sell devices at shows. However it looks like Onyx will release under their own name. There is a place in the Netherlands that claims to sell them. I just added it to the wiki under Where to Buy eBook Devices.
